Personally I think eight would be the best number.

But in this financial climate we are kidding ourselves with even four players on the subs bench. If the crowd goes down then so should the number of substitutes on the bench.

Teams like Celtic/Quins and Salford better be careful, when they run out of subs to get rid of do they have to get rid of starting players??

This bit is genius but you haven't gone far enough for me.

Leeds have the biggest attendances so they get to field 17 players each week, everyone else gets as many players as their percentage of the Leeds average allows.

Wigan get 12, St Helens maybe get 10, Bradford 9 and someone like Harlequins about 3.

Those games I'd pay good money to watch.

This suggestion is almost as good as having the play-offs in mid season.

Unfortunately my brain doesn't work at those kind of limits, that was an actual Damo suggestion from earlier in the season (if not on this board it must have been on the virtual terrace - that I occassionally look at at quiet times in here.)

What about a club like the Bulls then,how would the loss of their thousands of lets"jump on the band waggon"fans affect their match day squad Damo?
