Rhinos will be without props Jamie Thackray and Ryan Bailey for tomorrow's game.

Coach Tony Smith said Thackray is "not selected", while Bailey has a groin injury.

"It is something Ryan has been carrying for a little while and he aggravated it against Hull last week," said Smith.

Winger Ryan Hall is included in Rhinos' 18 man squad after missing three games due to a dead leg.

Forward Ali Lauitiiti, who was sidelined by a shin problem last week, is also back in contention, along with utility-player Jordan Tansey, who was left out against Hull.

So a ridiculously light weight squad then. When we are fully fit we fail to punch our weight, now he makes it worse. For what reason could our number 1 prop for the season, be "not selected". Whats up with replacing with Haley, or recalling Burgess.

The sooner Smith is away from this club the better.

Thackray has made a couple of costly errors in the last 2 games (although 1 looked like the ball could have been stolen) but to drop him seems harsh. He has rarely not had a positive impact when introduced off the bench this season.
The Wakey game has the importance of a play off game and we should have our best 17 playing. Thackray is in that 17 IMO.

A bizarre thing to do I'll concede, although if the presence/absence of Thacks determines whether or not we're good enough to beat Wakey then we're f*cked once we meet the top teams in the playoffs in any case.

Fair point, but with Bailey and Scruton injured it means we have only Leuluai and Peacock as props.That is a gamble against a team that has alreadt won at Headingley a few weeks ago.
This will also probably mean that he is sticking with Burrow at SH and not partnering McGuire and Sinny again at half back.

Then why not give Luke Burgess a go now that Doncaster have finished their season

Thackray is the new Barrie Mac.

Whilst he's made two vital errors in the last two games at least he hasn't hid from the ball like some of our forwards.

Thackray must be gutted given the effort he has put in this season.

It just makes logical sense if Bailey is out Thackray has to play.

This is a must win game to most

Not to Tony - winning is merely a bonus - performance is everything.

To me he really has lost the plot his whole attitude and pronouncements over the past three months suggest a man with facilities that are not functioning 100%.

Whilst I disagree as vehemently as you with the decision to omit Thackray what I won't do is go completely OTT with my reaction to it.

Reading your post I am in agreement that someone's facilities are not function 100% but it aint Tony Smith's.

And lets be honest mate, some of the recent performances have hardly been inspiring have they?

I agree with you 100% I like Thackeray - and even if it were a straight choice between him and Bailey would choose him every time. Hall should come in for Smith imo - Hall was doing fine before his injury and smith hasnt set the world alight. Tansey to the bench to please - that bench on Friday was rather one dimensional, not to mention rather ineffective.
