Exactly this plus they need a ruthless streak.
Sinfields standing as the Clubs greatest ever Captain is secured & unblemished but we need to move quickly to get the right DOR/Coaching set up in place or its another 3/4yrs dicking around with "msybe" appointnents.

| Well we will learn more this week, but to me this is a bit out of the blue . We need a statement from the club . For the DOR to quit when the season is well underway when contracts need sorting and then recruitment for next season ?

Gary isnt the answer in that role anymore. He was the best, but he let it slip to the point we was nearly relegated on his watch. Hes nearly 70 now, he knew he wasnt the man for that role when he passed the rugby side on to Kevin.
I agree with all the other points you make tho.

| I dont think we want anyone who has an affinity to the club. We need a proven experienced person who will appoint his own staff , but I'm still stunned for this to come out at this stage of the season .I want more info from the club

| Quote: Marty Grrrrrrrrrr! "Im just trying to rack my brains why he would give up a job for life for an asst cosching job. I know Kev and his family well and I know they are worried that Jack will always have Kevin hanging over him, that will always be the case but having Kev at the club may make it worse. I just dont know.
A couple of years ago I had a conversation with Kev and he said he didnt enjoy the job and it was much harder than he expected it to be and he waa ready to quit. Ive had chats with him since where he said things had improved and he was starting to enjoy it. Maybe hes finding it tough again.
Hes not on massive money at Leeds, he earned more working for the RFL and Im sure he will be on much more at Leicester maybe thats the reason.
Who knows eh? Who bloody knows.
Gutted.'"
I know someone who knows Kev well and I’m sure he said Kev really doesn’t like the coaching job. Much prefers the strategic role.. interesting to see how this pans out

| Maybe he has aspirations of becoming involved in the England RU set up in future.
I’d put money on his son following him to Union too.

Yes I've thought that too .Kev is now one of the few nationally recognized RL people and the RU hierarchy will be chomping at the bit to get him on the pundit panel at their big occasions. I also think Kev is about to be inducted into the Leeds Rl Hall of Fame if he is it will be very interesting

| I’ll be absolutely gutted if he goes. I think people say his record is mixed, but I think the balance has been pretty good overall, with a couple of signings not working out due to bad luck.
He is more than anyone in the sport, and will be a huge factor in attracting investors, sponsors and players. That can’t be underestimated.
Only 2 viable options if him and Agar go. Wane as DOR (although I hear he’ll be doing that for Wigan next year), or bringing Danny Mags back in some capacity. He handles recruitment at HKR, which looks to be pretty good. He’s also an assistant coach there. Don’t think he’s head coach material yet, but might work out in the same role he’s in there.

Wane is a head coach, there's no evidence he has the skill set to do a Director of Football role. McGuire maybe but this isn't something we have to fill with a favoured ex player. In fact it would probably be preferable if they weren't.

| I would be suprised if Jack went to Union. He has played for Sale but chose Leeds as he much prefers league but hes only scholarship so has no deal and zero guarantee he will make it

| Is Darth trying to tell us something here? "I know Kevin Sinfield, Richard Agar and the players are determined to reward your support with strong performances throughout the rest of the season."

" throughout the Rest of the season " ? Does that mean they're staying until the end of the season ?
