I have no idea of their chances of winning their court action. I am pretty sure they will be relegated regardless. That being the case, I think if I were a supporter or worse still an employee, I'd want to be hearing a very convincing explanation of precisely why that particular wedge of cash was being laid out.'"
TBF we don't know who's picking up the legal bill - it could be a Bulls fan offering their services as a solicitor or maybe even a former Bulls CEO?

That being the sort of clarification I would want as the aforementioned fan or employee. I fond it unlikely that, given the size of case this would probably be, there are many solicitors with little enough to do and time to spend working pro bono that they'd take it on for free. I might be wrong.
Even so, I would still want to know whether that was not an investment that could be directed more usefully.

Whoever thought that selling season tickets for next to nothing, while spending up to the cap, with inept revenue streams and patchy attendance really should give themselves a hand.
Admititedly the rot had set in during the Caisley era but still.
I'm more pee'd off that other SL clubs voted against them and troughed the cash out between themselves, destroying a club for a measly few grand.

A good friend of mine has come up with a very interesting and plausible theory!
They are now, after Wakefield's win over the Pies, almost certain to go down. Hence the reason they have now decided to take the RFL to the High Court. They know they don't actually have a case, if they had it would have been picked up by the appeals panel. However, getting the points back is irrelevant to this course of action because, has as already been said, they could still be not enough to avoid relegation anyway. The real goal here is cause as much disruption as possible to the Super League and RFL, and while ever a pending legal challenge remains, the RFL are unable to make any decisions about next season. He thinks the end-game is to actually put the RFL and Super League into such a position that they have to postpone the proposed league changes for another year, irrespective! Meaning that Super League would be forced to stay at 14 teams for another year, giving the Bulls another last-ditched chance of survival longer-term!
It is the most plausible theory I have heard... other than Marc Green is so blinkered that he really does think he has a case, when it would appear he doesn't!

Can any of the more legal savvy guys on here give a guess at what type of timescale this latest case will have?
Also if they end up more than 6 points adrift then would the changes to structure still be ok to go ahead as they wouldn't be able to catch Sslford/Wakey even if the unlikely event of them winning happens?

| But if
Quote: Inflatable_Armadillo "...(getting the points back is irrelevant to this course of action because, has as already been said,) they could still be not enough to avoid relegation anyway.'"
then that would not put

because Bradford would have been relegated and not entitled to play any part in next year's top 12, unless they somehow get more than six points back!

If that was all that was needed to destroy the club, it would have disappeared long ago.
On the Bradford forum they call it a fine. It could also be called a payment to appease the other clubs who had not had any help from the RFL. Don't forget, the management could have refused to pay the "fine" and just got on with their lives, but then there would have been no RL club.

I said the same thing on the other page. They are deliberately bringing the game into disrepute and ruining the spirit of the game. Should not be allowed to happen. In the end doesn't the RFL have the right to determine if the Bulls can be a member of which league anyway? If so even at the end they could find themselves isolated.

I think it would because you have no idea what the High Court will rule and what would follow. Lets say the High Court rule in favour of Bradford (I doubt they will BTW) and they say that the originally points deduction was unlawful! What happens next? Bradford claim mitigating circumstances for their relegation, claiming that the unlawful points deduction impacted on the potential outcome of the league and that had the points not been unlawfully deducted, they might have won more games and kept some of the players which left the club because of this. The RFL are stuck between a massive rock and a hard place. They can't just decide to keep Bradford up and relegate say Salford or Wakefield, because legal action from them would follow and they will most definitely win that battle!
Also, what happens if Bradford do finish just 4 point behind Salford or Wakefield and then after the season has ended the High Court rule in Bradford's favour? We have Salford or Wakefield claiming similar mitigating circumstances and then they will be hot-footing it down to the High Court to keep themselves in Super League.
The reality is that this will already be effecting Salford and Wakefield recruitment for next season. I think had the Bulls accepted their fate then it is fairly certain players would be happy to sign with either club now, knowing that things looks reasonably certain for playing in SL next year.
I think the RFL would have no choice but to wait until the outcome of a legal challenge was known and fully understood. Given there will be a cut-off point where the RFL would indeed have to say, sorry, we can't roll out a new league structure because of this and as such we have no choice but to say, as you where for 2015 and start again in 2016!

A key part of that article when it says it believes the case could be heard within a matter of weeks not months. Won't help Bradford if their goal was to hold up the changing of next years structure whilst a decision was still pending in court.

| Perhaps there are certain things the Marc Green wants to get into the public domain. Perhaps a high court can demand certain documentation or answers to certain questions which other wise havent been forthcoming.
There have been pretty strong accusations coming out from not only the various Bulls Camps, (the failed takeover group and Omar Kahns camp have accused each other, but also the RFL) but the RFL aswell that dont seem to be being investigated or addressed.
Maybe this is just about getting certain information, getting it out in the open and the 'win' comes later on.

| They wont launch an appeal in the high court all bluff and bluster.
The statement said if we launch an appeal, they will wait to see the results over the next couple of weeks and when all is doomed and six points is worth bugger all they will go down quietly.
