| Quote tvoc="tvoc"I agree with you and lionarmour87. Lee Crooks was definitely the Leeds captain at Elland Road when they picked up the Yorkshire Cup - despite one photo caption I recall at the time claiming 'Leeds skipper Garth Crooks.' I'm almost equally certain that Peter Tunks was installed as captain after his delayed arrival in '87 although I also recall Leeds handing the armband to Lee Crooks for Tunks' debut as Leeds faced Hull at Headingley in the opening round of the YC just a few months after his reluctant arrival at LS6 from the Boulevard.
'"
Crooks went off with a dislocated shoulder in the SF IIRC - don't think he played in the final.
I have feeling it was tunks.

I'd forgotten that. He was distraught as it was his drinking arm.

I think i still have them two games (and the SF) on video. Must see if i can convert to DVD. If i get a chance i may look back at them to remember the years when we pined for any trophy.

Before Friday, in terms of the SL Regular Rounds, there were three teams who had a better win to loss ratio when facing Leeds - now there are two (St Helens and Wigan) as the Leeds win at Odsal finally drew them level with their local rivals in this one aspect and did so for the first time during the SL Era.
As commented on yesterday on the Lowes thread, his playing retirement marked what appears to be a turning point in this fixture: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=549667&tsmp=1367917798&start=51
Quote tvoc="tvoc" From a Leeds fans point of view it was almost as if we had to wait for Lowes to quit playing (as he did after the GF success of 2003) before we could begin to win some long overdue silverwear.'"
SL Regular Rounds - Leeds V Bradford - 1996 to 2003:
Pl 22, W 4, D 0, L 18, Pts For 400, Pts Agst 687, (Avg Scr 18 - 31)
And since Lowes quit playing
SL Regular Rounds - Leeds V Bradford - 2004 to 2013:
Pl 29, W 20, D 3, L 6, Pts For 780, Pts Agst 552, (Avg Scr 27 - 19)
__________
While Leeds have a better win to loss ratio against every other team they've faced in the SL Regular Rounds (bar St Helens and Wigan as stated above) there is one other team besides Bradford that has enjoyed parity with the Headingley club ........... [size=150Oldham[/size.

| What are the St Helens' figures, TVOC? And how do they change if you add Grand Finals into the calculation?

If you add the SL Play-Off results to the Regular Rounds Leeds are still trailing St Helens but it's a little closer - add the Challenge Cup and it's a little worse again.

| With thanks to =#0000FFA-Fire-Inside we have the following : (As referenced incorrectly by Eddie Hemmings at the Bradford game.)
=#0000FFDanny McGuire needs three tries to reach 250 for his career.
McGuire has touched down 229 times for Leeds since 2001, and has also scored representative tries for Great Britain (5 Test & 2 Non-Test, 2004 & 2006-2007), England (4, 2008-2009), England 'A' (2, 2002-2003) and England Under-21s (5, 2001).
As well as tries scored, McGuire has kicked one goal for Great Britain (2006 Tri-Nations, against New Zealand) and three field goals for Leeds, leaving him needing seven points for a career total of 1,000.
__________
Ryan Hall Needs 1 try for 150 for Leeds in All Comps while Kallum Watkins needs 1 for 50.
Leeds' SL Era Top Try-Scorers:
1 - Danny McGuire 229

| Each of our players from one to seven (positionally) scored a try yesterday. When did that last happen?

| From a comment made on SKY - it appears the last (and possibly only previous) time it has happened in SL was the 8th August 1999 when Wigan defeated Huddersfield at the McAlpine Stadium 60 points to 10.
Wigan's backs lined up :
Kris Radlinski
Jason Robinson, Gary Connolly, Danny Moore, Paul Johnson
Greg Florimo, Tony Smith
All the above scored a try each bar Smith who bagged a brace.
(Gavin Clinch came off the bench and also scored a try.)

| Always fun to watch when that happens - unless it's against your own team - nah it's still funny even then.
