Think lui McLelland is a poor partnership, no commanding half there, doesn’t help at all

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Mclelland has shown nothing to suggest he’s going to be good enough for us in the long term. There’s time yet for him and Long may help on that front but he needs to start showing more regardless of the strength of the side. Good players always stand out. Today should have been one of this days.

I believe that long has been brought in just for McLelland, the club probably see him as the future for us

Sounds desperate and scrappy, credit to them if they come away with this. Some poor game management giving a penalty for obstruction when they should be seeing the game out.

Going to be interesting now after this week, whether we go to Catalans in a play off eliminator or carry on with this fixtures ahead, it’s going to be tough.

Huge decisions to who is in the halves with Lui being sidelined with HIA failed.

That was almost cruel to watch in 2nd half. Both teams absolutely knackered.

Im hoping Cas game is off to give us a few days rest.

Cant knock or criticise anyone. The effort was there for all to see but what players are being asked to do isnt fair when other teams arent doing it.

A win and im proud of the team for having a real dig there.

In McLelland's defence he has played most of his games as the only recognised half back in weakened teams. Even today he lost Lui in the 1st half. That said he hasn't shown much as yet. His lack of support play was also noticable today, when Handley collected the loose ball for Sutcliffes try McLelland was the nearest to him but nowhere to be seen when he handed it on to Sutty. A couple of other breaks were crying out for a halfback in support. Maybe we have been spoilt by having Burrow and McGuire, one of whom would have been there to finish off the break.

I’m not just singling McLelland out, and I’m not one for bagging young players, just think he’s light years away from a SL 7 compared with some of the other young halves knocking about.

Pleased for the lads today though, big win that in hard circumstances.

Walters not finished by a long shot, but big effort from him.

Credit to both teams there. Feel sorry for the players. A welcome win for us.
