Didn't think so. Thought Bentham got all the important stuff right. I did think Saints should have had a try when Lilley fumbled on our line as well. Couldn't really see why that wasn't a try.

I thought there were three possible outcomes to that, none of which were a scrum to saints. It should have been a try, because he lost the ball, a penalty to Leeds, for forcing him in goal after the tackle was complete, or a drop out.

Up until then it looked like it could have been 60

Yep. Thought we could have crumbled and been really hammered at that point. Big credit to some of the guys who refused to give it up. Helped by Saints being a bit $h1t as well defensively.

| Yeah that interference by Amor looked really poor -I think he would have been clear for Burrow to pass to and go under the posts but three times Amor tugged him back as he was getting away.
It's hard to assess Falloon as like Ablett and Delaney he is being chucked out there not fully fit. Whether that's the best option or not for all three of them I don't know but we're desperate for experienced players out there.

| Said after Salford I would stay off the away games due to the crap served up each week. Gave in last night for my son, and glad I did. I don't mind losing when we throw the ball around like that. At least entertainment was a plenty.
Thought Galloway, Garbutt, Keinhorst, and Handley were outstanding. All of the players never gave up, just some were more costly than others, but none could be said as poor. Lilley looks so so good and we just need to build that side around him. I felt sorry for Sutcliffe last night, he came on worked hard, an absolute class pass, some good running and backing up, then with Hardaker injured, forced into more work and a position not for him. And more importantly Lilley looked at his best whilst he was around him.
In the end I think we just deserved that and would have had it, had the ref played to the rules, or Golding had kicked ahead for Watkins instead of passing, or we had not blown precious time when blowing the free play on the extra six. But then again you can also look back at the number of costly errors by certain players that put us in that position.
Happy to watch that every week though, and would gladly persevere with more youngsters and lose if it's like that.

| Falloon isn't the standard we require for a key position - if we are bring players over from the NRL they need to be of the highest standard possible. Falloon just looks like a desperate gap-filler to me. Neither his defence of ball skills are anything to right home about.
Hopefully next season GH has something better in mind

| Clear professional foul by Amor on Burrow yet clearly missed
Baldwinson must be really fed up as to how Galloway has a place in the matchday squad above him

Handley will be very unlucky if he gets dropped to accommodate either Hall or Briscoe - neither of them deserve their place back on the form they showed prior to their injuries. If I recall Lilley was involved three times in the move that lead to one of Keinhorst's trys, I agree re. Sutcliffe was really getting into the game when he was moved to FB

Doesn't the Geneva Convention forbid the torture of rugby players? Asking Delaney to try and play every week is practically a war crime.

Handley has got better and better each week, and I too would not put either ahead of him now. He actually looks better playing on the left though.
What it showed with Sutcliffe, like last season, is that an open flowing game with fast movement, he can stand out and really play a part in great link play. Where he struggles, and where unfortunately for him what top teams need, is what happens in tight games with tight defences. But it was a shame for him last night, that having had such a poor season, he really was showing what talent he has last night and to get his confidence back. I can't see that those attempted tackles at fullback would have helped his confidence, but he needs to concentrate on the good he did with the ball prior to that, as he was only covering for forced injury.

The only real issue I have with Sutcliffe is that for a big guy he hits like a wet tissue. He was very bright when he came on last night, there was briefly the hint that our halves were starting to connect the team together. When he went to FB it also seemed to affect Lilley who was much less effective second half.
I also wasn't entirely convinced Amor's hit on Hardaker was legal. There was little to no arm involved, looked like a straight shoulder shot and I think Hardaker was knocked out by the hit, not brushing his head on Sutcliffe on the way down. Thought he was out immediately - looked like a whiplash style injury.

| I am not sure there was anything wrong with the hit it looked legal to me - would have to watch the replay.
The game yesterday showed what could be good about SL - open flowing rugby where players play what is in front of them. Too much focus on defending not enough on attacking. McDermott struggles to coach attack I think - Leeds have always been at their best when the players are left to their own devices

I'd go with that - the arm coming round was a bit of a token effort. From memory though Singleton flattened Amor (legally) later on, so maybe call it a split decision over the night...
