I knwo sky gave it to him, but I dont know how.
The lad looked good in the collission and workmanlike, and I look forward to how he progresses in a fulltime environment.
But on the night there were better performances on the field. His fellow prop Edmundson for a start had a much better game.'"
It was always likely to be him or McNally who got it.
I thought Theoharus was very good, as was Gorski.

I'd have given it to the Whitehaven chairman personally. His contribution was outstanding.

At least he makes a real effort, and seems to have at least some clue about running the club.

| Quote: BrisbaneRhino "Your opinion is valid. I suspect Bailey would look a tad better in NL rugby.
And didn't he play all of about 13 mins in last years GF? I know he only got on at the end
No disputing that Bailey has 3 GF rings but thats because he has/is playing in a good team.He as an individual contributes very little In my opinion of course.
I know the old addage that you need workhorses in any team and you cannot have a team full of impact players etc but IMO Bailey isn't a workhorse either.
He drives the ball in too infrequently and most of the time doesn't break any tackles. He;'s now started walking the ball up and then passes about 6 yards before the defensive line meaning he's committed no one
Hes often 3rd man into a tackle and shows none of the one on one big hits that he was renowned for when first breaking into the team.
I know many on here rate him and prefer him to Kirke but for my own taste I prefer Kirke and can at least see the hard graft he puts in whereas I simply dont see it in Bailey....sorry

| Anyone else notice (if that's not the wrong word) McNally apart from kicking at goal? Very anonymous, didn't look to impose himself on the game at all.
Oh, and WTF was Jamie Rooney doing going down clutching his face? Should be ashamed of himself.

Yeh i saw that, completely shameful behaviour!!!!
I also agree re-mcnally but in his defence i've also seen him win matchs virtually on his own.

Agreed on Rooney.
Can I also say that the referee was the best perforamance I have seen from a ref for 80 minutes in a long while.
He got pretty much everything spot on. Let the game flow where warranted, pulled what was needed, and kept a decent 10.
Hats off to that fellow.

I'd be more inclined to agree if he hadn't decided that an all black kit was appropriate for refereeing a team which plays in navy blue. Doesn't take a genius to find out what colour each team will be playing in and pick your kit accordingly - failing to do so makes you look a bit amateurish.
Oh, and more proof last night that someone, somewhere in SL really should have taken a punt on Craig Calvert - the guy's a born finisher, the flaws in his game aren't fatal ones and could have been ironed out if he'd been got hold of early enough.
