| Quote: exiledrhino "For me the 'passive' defence is made of two factors - line speed and numbers in the tackle. The team have almost no line speed in D for the majority of games. We also appear to only want to have two in the tackle for most tackles. That to me is clearly a tactical move, which can be really easily address. No defence is truly passive in RL, as the collision is still there, but I think Smith has a philosophical view point on the way the game should be played, which doesn't really fit with how to create a winning side in this era of RL.
Signed
Aside from the coaching, we also need to address the pack. Belive Mike McMeekan is OOC for next year- should we be throwing the cheque book at him? Currently much better than any of our FR options in my view.'"
Signed for wakefield along with Johnstone

1157.jpg It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.:1157.jpg |

| Does the retirement of Richie Myler mean we have some cap space to play with this season? I think the rumours of the time were that we were contributing to his salary at York this year.
If that’s correct it would be interesting to see what (if anything) we do with that space. Hopefully one of the Journos will ask the question.

If we have any spare cash and contemplating adding to the squad ,I would prefer waiting to see how the season unfolds. We may well be looking at a new coach territory at the season end.

| Is the cap 3 million or 3.1 these days?
We are spending 2.7 million.

So we are 300-400k under the cap + fusi, Donaldson and maybe Martins wages back.
That's enough for two world class forwards and a winger + extra.

| I suppose the thinking is, if only 8 teams can spend the full cap, why increase it.
