| Broadbent had Gelling in his pocket all night. Not bad for your second SL appearance.I think he could be a cracking player.

| Thought Harrison went really well, especially in the first half.

| Great performance last night and a number of the kids demonstrated that they are ready to step in should they be needed. We must support their development by giving them chances surrounded by our better players so they in turn become better players.

| Hats off to Broadbent and O`Connor.
Harrison and Walters both have the making of decent forwards.
Wish they hadn`t bigged up Tindall who probably was at fault for 3 of their try`s although I do think he will be putting pressure on Briscoe for the right wing spot next year.
Walker and McLelland could have done better and I would be disappointed if Walker gets the nod over Myler on Saturday.
Ferres and Thompson probably had one of their better games.
Overall a good performance that would have been tighter had Clark not have played for Wire.

| Have to say I've been pleasantly surprised by O'Connor. Not sure what his best position is but he made an impact on the game.
McLelland needs to operate alongside a more experienced half, he struggles with the weight of controlling games. I thought he went really well for Fev but he has less time at SL level and it shows. He will improve. I imagine if Sean Long is coming to us that it might only be for a year or two, and a big part of his job will be skills development in the young players.
Still in two minds about whether Cuthbo should make the bench on Saturday. As a ball-handling middle Smith probably just offers a little more.
Don't think Walker did enough last night to warrant selection - after being out so long and feeling his way back from injury, he looks like he needs more game time to get back into best form which you would expect.
Tindall made some errors but he will learn and I just think he is going to be a Ryan-Hall-esque specimen. He looks in great condition for his age and I gather he is quick too. Exactly what we need. Definitely will be vying with Briscoe sooner rather than later.
Overall though most pleased about Jack Broadbent, I've always been a fan of his and his performance against Gelling was excellent. Loved his ball steal on Charnley. He was also away for an interception try towards the end before the ref blew the whistle - it's that kind of game awareness he brings. He reminds me a little of Brad Godden - maybe not the biggest or quickest, but just a quality player in the making.

| Very impressed with Broadbent. I hope now that players like Walters, Broadbent, O'Connor, McLelland, Tindall, Mustapha get some opportunities whilst surrounded by a strong side for the remaining games. This will showcase their ability better when playing on the front foot, with better ball and more experienced players around them.

And the next morning the club announce Tom Briscoe has signed a 2 year contract

| Really enjoyable game , i thought the scoreline flattered Wire tbh & Kendall bottled the Red Card.
Once again the youngsters proved that they should get more gametime in amongst our best 17 rather than wasting money on olayers like L.Briscoe Evans Ferres etc.
I dont think Walker did enough for a CC final spot but id include Holroyd & Cam Smith.

| I think the club has players like Ferres around to look after the young side in this midweek type fixtures - you need some size, muscle and experience sprinkled amongst, otherwise they would just get run over and lose confidence - it's a fine line. The balance has been pretty good as shown by performances.

Yep, Ferres played in the middle last night and played 80 minutes enabling the younger middles to be spelled.

| Fantastic performance last night from the young ones, nothing but praise for them. The question now is can we keep them happy until they progress to the first team. As players retire or end up out of contract we need to show these lads there is a path to the first team, result here is irrelevant, you cannot buy the experience they got last night, and well done to both Ferres and Cuthbo, both played their part in helping the kids. I would not be surprised if in the next three years At least half of that team will be first team squad players.
I think the young Jack Walker will miss out this weekend, simply since his injury he has not yet got back to his best, hopefully the club will handle him well. Certainly the future looks a lot more rosier for the team after the last couple of years

| Well, we lost Gale because we had Burrow and McGuire at the time - was the right call (for both parties), it happens.
2021 would have been the start of our push for top. We need just one or two stars in there to light the side up but I don’t know if the club can afford/justify it now in the circumstances. Sounds like a couple are lined up for loan deals next year anyway.
