| Quote nantwichexile="nantwichexile"I meant the SL competition as a whole was 'pitiful' .....sad to say. Is it, or is it not, predictable which teams will finish in the top 5?
... Every match should be a competition and not a procession. Which do you expect against London, Wakefield or Bradford?'"
Firstly the top 5 is not the same year on year. Huddersfield have only recently been added to the top 5, ousting the previous occupants Catalans. Before that Warrington who only became a major force about 4 years ago. its not long since Hull were top 5 regulars, same with Bardford, and Wigan were out of the top places for a couple of seasons.
Even if it were only the same top sides each year, how is that different to any other sports in any other country? In football most nations only have a couple of people who ever seem to win the title. England has a top 4 which rarely seems to change, and thats a league which thrives on being competitive.
The NRL does seem to have a good level of turnaround from one season to another, but the clubs can all afford to operate close to the cap. The clubs in SL cannot for one reason or another. Some clubs find it hard to attract fans through the gates, which is not that surprising when the people who profess to love the game prefer to point score on the net than support struggling clubs by attending games

| Quote ThePrinter="ThePrinter"Wakefield being pretty rubbish is the only reason Leeds are still in with a chance of winning the GF???
They've mostly been poor for the majority of their SL years.
Quite a turn around by Wakey fans though, after racking up 50 points 2 weeks in a row they were getting confident of a climb up the table and beating Saints, they're now back down to doom & gloom. Will probably still be the ref's fault though, the guy I work alongside (Wakey fan) has only ever not blamed the ref for a Wakefield defeat probably about 3/4 times in 10 years of me knowing him. Even earlier this week he said "I knew we'd lose as soon as I saw who the ref was".......yes that was clincher really wasn't it
'"
Being a Wakey fan I'd have to agree with confidence being high after comfortably beating both Catalan and London as well as running St.Helens very close. However there was no blaming the ref against Leeds who absolutely thrashed Wakey last week in a very professional performance with the Wakey team making loads of mistakes, no real energy/commitment, poor tackling technique/defensive structure and looking as if they'd thrown the towel in before half time.
Boot on the other foot would you be in optimistic mood with that inept display and after getting beat by 60 points which is the third highest defeat in the club's history?

When Jeff joined. So probably over a decade ago.
Over a decade, and thousands of posts, as a faux intellectual winding up fans on an internet message board.
Depressing.
