Felt a bit sorry for Stuart, it was a bit of a massacre seen as all he really did was embellish his CV a bit and who doesn't do that? Don't get me wrong, I think he deserved to go (or more... didn't deserve to stay) but I think they way in which he went was a bit over-harsh. I also thought he held his own bantering with two professional comedians which is pretty impressive.
Right two in the final for me but I still don't like Stella. She's secretly more arrogant than Stuart was. I had a lot of respect for how Stuart/Chris/Jamie came out of the interviews and just said... "God that was tough! He ripped me to bits!", whereas Stella was "Yeah it was fine!". I think she has a chip on her shoulder because she was born on a council estate and left school at 15. Getting to where she's got with that in mind she's done well, but my point is now that she's "there" she has to spot bleating on about it and be judge on what she's doing now, and where she's going, not where she's come from. I agreed with whoever it was that said... she's just a very, very, very good PA.
I'd like Chris to win, but I think Stella will.'"
No, no , no. The guy with the most boring voice on earth & no experience at all.
He's achieved nothing at all in his business life, changed his uni course twice until he could find one (Theology) that offered him the best chance of getting a 1st.
He's obsessed with his academic achievements, Margaret had him sussed to a T.
What I got from last night was Lord Sugar's extreme annoyance at falling for Bagg's speech in the boardroom which led to him firing Liz. Thus depriving us of the best final, that would have been Stella vs Liz.

Firstly... It's called "The Apprentice", not "The Master". I'm not saying he's the finished product by any way, he is lacking experience. But I do think he'll do well in the right environment (and I do agree, good God his voice is dull!!!!!!!)
Secondly... I totally agree, I would've loved to have seen Liz in the final (and would've wanted her to win) the fact is she isn't, and I don't like Stella, so I want Chris to win.

I’ve watched the last few nights and I must admit I admire both finalist. However there’s no doubt that it should have been Stella v Liz.
Remarkable_Rhinos I think that your been very harsh on Stella by accusing her as a very good PA. In the second week when she managed the boys she showed great leadership and totally whipped them into shape. She’s also had a great record since that task by been on the winning team more often than the losing team.
Old Feller I think you don’t want Chris to win because Stella rhymes with Feller
Other than that I think your been very harsh on Chris. Whenever someone like his voice or not is just a matter of opinion. An opinion that doesn’t represent Chris as a whole. If Lord Sugar was appointing someone on likeability then I’m sure he’d gone for Liz because she’s attractive. Instead he’s going for that ‘spark of genius’. Secondly I think the fact that he changed his university course twice shows bravery and the ability to move on from a wrong decision. I’m assuming that a majority of people would of opted out of university all together if the first course didn’t go well - never mind the second.
The other point you make Old Feller is his experience. He has business experience in the process and this process is all about sinking or swimming. He’s got to the final via the process meaning that he certainly hasn’t sunk to the depths of loserville yet. I think that people nit pick far too much on experience for my liking. It should be all about creating experience rather than living off it. At the end of the day everyone deserves a equal and fair chance at getting a job. Thankfully Lord Sugar also see’s it this way otherwise the likes of Stuart, Chris and many others wouldn’t of made it on the show over the years. I think the fact that companies ask for candidates to have a wealth of experience beforehand shows how useless they are at teaching others how to do their job. In the real world there’s been a lot of high experienced people that have been fired from they job. I think that says more about them than it does about someone whose left school and has had no chances.
Finally I just want to say that interviews are old fashioned and I don’t know why the job centre made a big deal of me going to them. I see interviews as a soft way of saying that your CV’s not good enough and you haven’t got a job. I prefer tough love where companies don’t respond to your application at all. I think that this weeks interview process backs me up. Most of the candidates have thrived in the series before the interview stage when it was a matter of sink or swim. But the minute you’ve got criminologist minded interviewers ripping your life and CV to shreds you have no chance.
On a final note two very capable people who’ll do fine. Good luck to them both!

I said very, very, very good PA.

Agree with the whole "experience" thing too. Like I've said before, it's called the "Apprentice". Lord Sugar can't be expecting to employ somebody with bucket loads of experience, otherwise you'd be questioning why they wanted the job in the first place. I mean, if somebody had all Chris' qualifications, and 10+ years experience in a high powered job, you'd wonder (or, I personally would wonder!) why they wanted to do this gruelling, 13 week, "job interview from hell" away from their families to land a £100k job anyway?! Surely that person (Hybrid of Stella's experience with Chris' academia) would (should!) already be on £100k (or more) and if not I'd wonder why not.
I've always thought this was a key fault of the show... if somebody really REALLY was as intelligent, experienced, ambitious, enterprising & entrepreneurial as viewers expect them to be, they wouldn't be happy with that job. Employing people is a fine balance. You've got to find somebody ambitious/intelligent enough to want to grow in/with your company, but not so ambitious/intelligent that they're just using you for free training (or to see how it's done) then setting up on their own, not only creating competition for your business but leaving you with the difficult vacancy of a top draw member of staff to fill!

First of all I don’t agree that the apprentice is a job interview from hell. Its only when your doing the actual interviews like this week, your toying with flames and getting burned out. Most of the process looks like a practical business school where the wealthy send their children. Its certainly looks better than listening to someone drone on in Armley Library about their life story before they resigned to telling people how to start up a business.
Finally I think that you have some good theory’s about the pit falls of the show. However I’d like to think that working for and with Lord Sugar does come with its merits. I’m sure that with 100k a year you’d get good bonuses and they’d be a big pay rise in years to come.
But I do see your point. People can create good wages and bonuses for themselves without leaning on Alan Sugar
Quote: Remarkable_Rhinos "That recent interview not go well Damo?
It went well, but I didn’t have enough experience which is ridiculous considering I was been interviewed for a trainee post on a government scheme that’s suppose to give young people experience. Instead employers abuse this scheme by employing someone very experienced on what is low wages for them.

| Whats all this talk of "xmas bonus" ???
What is this thing you speak of ?
I'm having a pub lunch in Birmingham next week as our xmas do, and its on one of my holidays too.
Won't miss a free pub lunch though, driving all the way to Brum and back for a pub lunch is a bit desperate though isn't it ?
There will be cake though...

It’s not just about the free meal though is it?
It’s about the freedom that you have in order to drive wherever you want in this great country. When you put petrol in that car, try and imagine what journey that petrol has been on before it ended in a gas pump and eventually your car. Wouldn’t it be ace if petrol could talk?
I think in the New Year I’m going to propose a CD that has the recordings of what sounds like talking petrol. It’ll be certainly be something great to put on the car radio on the way down to Birmingham would you agree?
Maybe at the end of the tape funeral music can go on as the final bit of the petrol makes its way to heaven.

I personally don't think it's the job interview from hell. That's just what the tag line of the show is. The challenges look great fun, the pressure must really get to them because they really do make some incredibly easy decisions look incredibly difficult and get MUCH more wrong than I'm sure they would watching it at home. I often wonder how "real" the deals are. The tasks where they're selling a designer's (or artist's) clothes (or paintings), then fair enough, the products are there in their hands and getting exchanged for cash etc. Similarly tasks like the sausage or baking task this year. Obviously that's real as the public are parting with cash for the stuff.
But the tasks like this year's cleaning product task (or for the final they're "launching a new alcoholic drink"icon_wink.gif. They get an "order" of 1000 crates. How does that work given that said company are ordering a 1000 crates of a product that surely isn't actually getting launched?? How can they win/lose a task based on purely speculative orders? It's pretty easy for a company to order 1000 crates of "Germinator" if you're not actually having to stump up the reddies for it because the product doesn't exist. I'd like to see an MD with a sense of humour... "Nick, the results for Apollo?"... "Certainly Alan, Techco Ltd. said they would order 10 million crates of Germinator if Liz flashes her t[ii[/its."
Anyway, I digress....
My point in a nutshell is thus; if you really were "the next Lord Sugar" you wouldn't need to be applying in the first place.

Yep. No jobs about so somebody seriously overqualified for a job still wants it because it pays the bills. Plus apprentices/trainees on approved schemes are exempt from NMW (until 1 year in post and over 19y/o) so the company is getting a bargain for a year at least.
Better luck next time pal.
