Looks like he’s being groomed at left centre. Could be a good call, he might lack the outright size for the pack although he’d make a cracking LF with his skill set.

Edwards and Broadbent down that LHS could be interesting with Newman on the right.

He wont lack the size for backrow, he's 17, and without knowing his growth rate, he's on course to be as big or bigger than the likes of Bateman, Bentley, Ward, L Farrell etc and more explosive than any of them. Injury and attitude permitting, He'l be excellent wherever he ends up.

Seems a really humble lad too. Big fan of Edwards.

I rate Max Simpson from the little I’ve seen too. He could be very good indeed.

Batley had a good win at Widnes today and Mr Edwards was on the scoresheet again.

Took his try well and looks like hes grown in height.Was done for speed by Widnes winger and centre/

Just watched the Academy origin game, some very good performances from our lads.

Levi, playing centre, got P.O.M, Field was excellent in 2nd row, Simpson was every bit as good as Levi imo, Gatus, Watten and Hird ran strongly and Edgell showed some quality from fullback.

Enjoyable game.

Simpsons some player, the year group of Edwards, Gannon, Simpson, Edgell, Gatus, Morgan is as good an intake as we'v had for many years imo...Aldrige, Davies and Spear are also good players in the same group.

I’ve only seen Max play once and thought “wow”. He has good height, great aggression, some pace - second coming of Keith Senior I reckon!
