Wigan have a significant advantage squad wise in the pack over the other teams. Any long term injuries to Bevan French or Jai Field would negate that advantage.
Every team needs some luck with injuries and hopefully Leeds are due some.

Wigan appear to have no reserve backs and will be relying heavily on their academy (which I suspect is good) for any back injuries. If Wigan lost their 1, 6 and 7 like Leeds have in the past, then they will struggle.

Avoiding injuries to the half backs and full back is a massive factor in any season. French and Smith didn’t miss a game last year and Field missed very few. At Saints Welsby, Lomax and (I think) Dodd were ever present. I wouldn’t wish them bad luck because the sport desperately needs the stars to play. I just wish some of that luck could come our way.

Leeds Live reporting Corey Johnson likely going out on loan to the Bulls at some point in the next month.

He needs to play first grade to show what he can do / try for a SL contract beyond this year. Unless we transition O’Connor to back row I can’t see Johnson staying at Leeds.

That 18 months that he had out of the game has certainly stunted his pathway to regular first team football.
In 2018 when he played against the touring Aussie schoolboys he was by far the best junior 9 in this hemisphere imo and I thought that we had him as our starting 9 for a decade.

Well at least he's back now and has a coach who I think wants to develop young players at the right pace. I think the 1st team selection on Friday will reflect this. If he can get game time at Bradford and learn from Smith and Ackers we hopefully will have a first choice 9 for a number of years.
