anyone notice when sinfield 'stole the ball' off newton smith told him him he should just have laid a hand on him to complete the tackle?
that happened in the saints game with bentham and he was ridiculed and told he was in the wrong by the RFL

| Quick, honest question here so don't shoot me down. I admit to not knowing the rulebooks inside out. 
You know for something to be judged a knock on, (obviously going forward) doesn't it have to have hit the ground or the sticks? If not isn't it just a forward pass?
If not, can someone clarify the definition of a knock-on for me.
