Game too far tonight. Made a fare few chances in that second half but lacked the composure to take them. In fairness the Cas defence of their own line was excellent. Lui did great. Tetavano ran straight and very hard. Hurrell took some stopping but came up with an absolute howler for their third try. Not too despondent.

effort was there but neither hooker is anywhere near top class. no direction whatsoever, led us into blind alleys all night.
we need a hooker and half who has a rugby brain. we currently dont have any

We do but he’s only just rejoined the club and is on loan at York. Good hookers make the game look easy, best we’ve had at Leeds in all my time has been Buderus, and he was well past his best when he came over.

CJ probably won’t be a DB but has the potential to be better than anything else since.

Hopefully the halfback conundrum has been solved with Sezer. Leeds don’t play halves as a pair, it’s one left and one right with the FB joining in if there’s another pair of hands needed. That means we can get away with two traditional 7’s with Gale and Sezer.

Wouldn't say that's season done. Will be tough but if Hull kr drop points we could still get into playoffs. Disappointing last plays again tonight. No composure.

I'm going to get burnt at the stake for this but thought the game needed dwyer to be on earlier. Get him on against 12 and who knows. Too slow all round but plenty of positives. Thought lui came back strong. Martin kicking again good. That dwyer tackle brilliant.

A week to recover before leigh. Hopefully prior isn't bad and will be available soon.

The lack of genuine quality in depth showed tonight , Thompson plodded ,Donaldson is never a starting BR & our passing was garbage 99% of the ball Newman got was in slow motion ,high above his head or when he had 3 defenders set in front of him. Lui was our best player yet when he made s clean break nobody was there to support him.
Dwyer although a decent try & try saving tackle his distribution & ignoring our right edge numerous times was shocking.
Mcshane ran the show for them at 9 & at 7 Richardson was a passenger & we just let Mcshane run the show.
We were bang average & in the end lucky to get 18 pts.
Hurrell had 3 decent runs the rest of the game anonymous apart from conceding an easy try.
Marquee money demands quality & he just isnt it ,nor does he deserve a new deal.

Interesting interview from Tetevano in Yep today. He’s still struggling after Covid. It hit him very hard for a good 2 weeks. Said he’s form is way off.

re tonight, King can’t seem to get going can he..

Agree about the ball to Newman he had no chance with the quality of ball he was given, which brings up the reason we have signed Austin, 3 quality halves will make a lot of difference.

King going off then Sutcliffe off for half of the game didn’t help one bit.

Thought Cameron Smith went well, he looks a really classy ball playing 13 to me.

If that’s Tetevano playing out of form im looking forward to seeing him fully fit!

Yea agree Cam was very good & Tetevano carried our pack.
I dont see the point in starting Sutty at 6 he's wasted there just put Leeming at 7 with Lui & use LS in the BR.
We just looked devoid of any ideas that was a poor performance tonight & imo ended our Season.

The season is far from over. We have a pretty soft fixture list to go and, just as importantly, play both HKR and HFC. Win those two, plus at least two of Leigh, Hudds and Wakey and we are pretty much guaranteed to be top six.
Moreover, as it stands it's highly unlikely Hull KR will play enough games to make the play offs. In which case we are pretty much in the six already.

If we can enter the play offs with most of the current missing players back, especially Mik and Prior, and, by some miracle, both Gale and Lui on the pitch together we can really shake things up.

Briscoe bottled a try early doors as he bottled diving for the corner.

King was out of the game with injury early on, again. Made of glass.

No direction without Gale or Prior. Defence wasnt as intense as the last few games.

Thaler warned Cas at least 5 times and no cards.

Sutcliffe offers nothing. We were a different side with Leeming and Lui in the halves.

The Leeds stewards are a disgrace re: the pitch invader.

What I will say is that with Sezer and Austin next year and with our pack, we are going to absolutely smash some sides.

Long story short. We were missing key players - Cas weren't.

Did they deserve their win? Probably as they kept us out for at least 10 sets on their line.

We move on to the next game.

Even without Oledski and Prior we still dominated field position for long periods, but created little. It was a rerun of many of our early season games. Gale cops criticism on here but without him we are clueless, and rely on the darts from Dwyer because we have nothing else. I thought we improved slightly with Leeming in the halves but overall a poor performance.

Fair point there’s still a way to go, just can’t see us getting a consistent side out long enough to make a decent go of it, this year has been really frustrating with injuries and bans, then throw in Covid

Cas were very smart - and very cynical - about their foul play. They took Thaler to the line repeatedly but never quite went over it so they got a sin binning. Depressing but they didn't quite give the referee the chance to bin one of them for it (putting aside the dangerous play binning).

Quote: krisleeds "The Leeds stewards are a disgrace reThe minimum wage stewards presumably aren't there to get involved with potentially violent pitch invaders. They had to wait for the relatively small number of proper security staff to get there do it. It's not the stewards role to get beaten up on the job.

It's in the balance, but we can still reach the play offs. Gale and Lui together could make a big difference if they ever get on the pitch at the same time. Could it happen? Surely not.
