| Quote BrisbaneRhino="BrisbaneRhino"True, but if we mess up the coach again no amount of recruitment will help. Whilst we may not be able to recruit a lot from outside our good juniors will be a year older and able to play much bigger roles. In fact regardless of who the new coach is, bringing on this next generation has to be one of the biggest priorities.'"
Yes agreed it's a difficult balancing act isn't it.

| Just been doing a bit of reading up on Shane Flanagan on various NRL boards, despite the doping thing, he sounds exactly the type of coach we need. Cronul fans saying he turned them from a team people expected to beat into a team that no one wanted to play as they were tough and always played for the full 80, apparently he was excellent at getting the best out of what he had but had an eye for talent and also put in place excellent pathways for the talented youngsters to come through.
if we went for him we need to give him free reign on who he has as assistant and make sure he has a big input in player recruitment.
He's also free to come over at any point.
One massive plus for me is he hasn't got any ties to the club and personally I think that is what we need.

Gary Hetherington may be 'careful' with money but I'd rather that than the club be in financial trouble. I think I'm right in thinking that we are the most profitable club in super league. However, I think you are wrong to describe him as 'stupid'. That he is not. I have every faith in him, and the rest of the management team, to see us through this period.

How anyone can call Hetherington 'stupid' is beyond me after what he has done for the club.
There may be an argument that he should be looking at retiring or handing over the reigns (which I believe is what he is doing with Sinfield) but to call him stupid, is naive at best, downright disrespectful at worst

| Agree on GH, he's the best thing to happen to this club. He's got a few things wrong recently but his body of work in his time here is absolutely brilliant.

| Report on social media that Richard Marshall will become assistant coach, regardless of who is brought in as head coach. Now I'm sure he's a decent coach, but shouldn't the new head coach be selecting his new coaching team set up?
Didnt work out well last time with Furner and Lowes did it? Apparently they were barely on speaking terms for most of their tenure.
