Have to agree with leedsnsouths on this one. Supporting a sports team generally involves a lot of passion and emotion. Fans have always and will always sing songs and use exaggerated language that include emotive (hate, scum etc), strong and offensive words. I'm pretty sure nobody actually wants to get a gun and shoot anybody, it's just a song - it's all part of the theatre/pantomime.
Those that take such offense or who publicly criticise people for using this type of language at a sports event are either ultra snowflakes or more likely on a crusade to try and prove that they're somehow more intelligent/a better person than those involved. Either way, it's pretty pathetic.

In answer to your earlier post, yes, I am very sure it was the one third section of the south stand.
Highlighted words = zero expletives. Admittedly, any person that Hates another RL club has some personal issue.
South Stand chant, as pointed out in my earlier post included a very audible expletive.
The issue here is not what other clubs fans do, its the holier then thou attitude that SOME (not the majority) of Leeds fans have when a decent section of one stand is chanting offensive drivel in what is projected as a family game.

I suggest you seek some professional help.
Don't bother responding, you have made it blatantly clear you are not fundamentally decent enough to converse with.

A spur of the moment outburst is slightly different to organised chanting, would you not agree.
Its not about Snowflakery, its about setting an example to younger generations of fans. Are you happy that kids (under 12's) are exposed to this type of environment, with out challenge, to accept it as the norm?

| I’m by no means suggesting that Lilley is some finished article SL player but given the choice of moon and Lilley I’d like to see him have a go as Moon is just a passenger there. He can certainly read the game better than moon who just kills space. Lilley also got injured at Leigh and returned to Leeds for treatment.

Absolutely I'm fine with my kids being exposed to that type of environment, because they're taught what is acceptable and at what times. It's words, that's all.. sticks and stones and all that. There are things that are acceptable to be said and done in different environments and as a parent, it's my job to make sure my kids know what is appropriate and when. Kids don't need to be wrapped in cotton wool all the time.
There are lots of things that go on in the real world that I wouldn't want my kids to do and there's no way I can stop them from witnessing a lot of it, but what I can do is teach them to make informed decisions on what is right and wrong. If you're relying on everyone else to behave in an acceptable manner for fear of them being influenced or to stop your kids behaving badly, you've lost the battle already.
I'd say anyone who has followed the game on this forum since a child and into adulthood has heard and seen much worse over the years (particularly 20/30/40 years ago when racism/homophobia etc were almost the norm), yet not been scarred or had their behaviours influenced by it. We're not all racist, homophobes because we heard some nasty chanting at the rugby. (By no way am I suggesting racism/homophobia is acceptable by the way).

I have no problem with the above, pro your own team and anti the opposition chants are part of the "match day experience". I do object to swearing (repetative and full throttle rather than the occasional exasperated utterance) throwing stuff at players and pathetic attempts to intimidate opposition fans and players. RL is promoted as a family sport and as such needs to maintain a family friendly environment. I believe on the whole our sport does that, and long may it continue.

unfortunately the conduct and rhetoric and behavior from a certain person across the pond is making what we called unacceptable normal .

That my friend is a whole different bag of crazy...
Though again, I'd like to think my kids are balanced enough from our parenting to understand that the rhetoric spouted by a rather odd ego maniac does not impact on their beliefs and view on the world - regardless of how powerful and successful he may be.
I'd also hope that as they mature they can look at all things objectively, and separate the BS social media agenda or outrage on pretty much everything in life and make their minds up on whats actually happening in tje world based on their own moral code, not the social media perception.
It's a crazy world nowadays - the only people I trust to influence my kids in the right way are me and my direct family and my kids know that - so everyone else can do and say as they please.

The word 'chav' is far more offensive to me than anything you will hear fans sing at a RL game. You are basically disregarding a whole section of society based on their background.
And obviously when I say I hate wigan I am talking in sporting terms, again if you can't separate that from hating say war or organised crime, then it is you who has the mental problem my friend.

Pretty much the point I was making, unfortunately some people can't distinguish between throwing things at players and singing about them.

So you didn't see the Leeds fans throwing things at the Wigan players at kick off?
btw It was the Leeds club who provided those small plastic rugby balls.
