| Quote: Lawrie L "Up until his extended run in the half backs I thought Sutcliffe would never fit that role However he's changed my opinion big time. Give him time and I fully expect a player who will be committed to taking on leadership and being our in game kicker
Now, where's my apology?'"
Yet after 2016 we need another halfback, which seems to be overlooked. The club have obviously decided they need a top halfback to replace Sinfield, and I don't think they are wrong. I don't think the club are looking to a future without Sutcliffe, I think they are looking for the right move for 2016. A signing like Widdop is the sort of move a club like Leeds need to make. Sutcliffe will not be overlooked and will be the 2017 replacement.

| Anyway
Why bring a NRL player in when we can use one of our youngsters who come through our great youth set up?
Just an idea....

Yeah your right, why did we bother with Cuthbertson, or Moon, or Aiton, or Kylie. Hell why did we bother with Ali, or Bai or Webb. Imagine how much more successfull we could have been.
I'm sure you didn't think through that last post, or having memory loss.

Again with the insults, dear me
Just a question, that's all. At times when a player is available you have to look at them however Leeds of late aren't a major buying in so why not look at promoting within?!

There is no insult there and you know it.
Your question is fine, it just overlooked what we have also built our success on. It's not as if we have done based this fully on homegrown players. The key is having the right external signing, and one that is significant to what the club want to achieve. You can't just replace a player like Sinfield, just like that, it needs to be one of equal importance considering the Influence Sinfield has on the team.

You just can't seem to have an adult debate without an insult here or there
Sinfield is a one off. To replace from outside will have added pressure to live up to previous success they have had with their current side. If you replace from within the person will have same pressure but will grown up around the successful environment of the Leeds club
Tricky area I understand and be interesting to see how the club copes in next 5 years or so

We haven't been major buyers of late, however GH hasn't been faced with the departures that he's facing in 2015.
We haven't made a load of signings in previous off seasons however we still have managed to add guys who have become key players for us.
2015 - Cuthbertson
2014 - Briscoe (and eventually Aiton)
2013 - Moon
2012 - not so much (Griffin disappointed)
2011 - Hardaker
2010 - Delaney

That's my point!
If we make 3/4 signings for next season could be interesting to see how it affects the harmony of the team

| Where a player has been suitable internally they have been the priority. We are going to lose so much in the next couple of years at half back that an external player coming in is about our only option.
As far as Someone who would fit in with the Leeds way and be of the quality needed, Widop is the right man

Tell me when I am debating with an adult.
When talking about replacing Sinfield though you are also looking for other qualities. A great kicking game, organising ability, and most importantly an extremely good goal kicker. If the club identify somebody who can tick all those boxes then that is what you go with. The pressure for a youngster trying to fulfill those additional roles as well as replacing Sinfield as a player will be far greater than bringing in a proven success from an other club.
