| I can forgive him that given the nature of what happened. But even with the initial dubious penalty they only have themselves to blame for the rest.

Hicks lost a bit of control, he wasnt great and got a fair bit wrong. But losers look for excuses. Brian Mac would have been no more or less valid in complaining about Hicks had we not won. Anderson should probably be a bit embarrassed about that tomorrow. The players decided that game and he did a disservice to his players as much as ours.

| All the euphoria about this win.however, cant help but think Wigan will be more than happy facing Hudds after that tonight than Saints.

Brian wouldn't have complained though.
Were any of the wrong/tough calls actually more than 60/40 though?

Nah, given the choice as of this moment, I would take Saints over Hudds.
Best case scenario next week V Huddersfield we get a hard, tough, tiring game. Best case scenario v Saints we get the game we have seen 3 times out of 4 this year.

Better not to worry about who they would want to play. Like the old clubcall..we have a home game against the side who finished 4th...that'll do

Yes but I'm happy with our semi final.
6/7 mins away from a return to Hudds or Saints at Headingley???
At least Sinfield and Peacock get one last run out at Headingley!

Yep. If anything Hicks letting the game flow,as I've mentioned elsewhere, made it the game it was.Would have said the same had it been a draw which it looked like being.

There has been a fair bit i have been talking about refs on here recently, but when judging them i try and look at them overall rather than picking decisions.
Most of the time you hear people complaining about refs its about this decision or that decision, realistically you arent going to see a ref get everything right. And Hicks certainly didnt tonight. But he didnt get many decisions terribly wrong, and certainly not in the favour of one team. He didnt ref to my preference but I wont have a go because he was consistent.
What I would say is that Hicks did not make 1 error worse than Ryan Halls pass, he didnt make 1 error even close to as bad as either Brough or Ellis' kick out on the full.
And as I said before, his complaints about the ref are as much a disservice to the performance of his players as it is to ours because bar the bounce of a ball here and there Hudds would have won that game with a referee who 'had a shocker'

| As for the performance, we were miles better than the previous weeks (it wasn't difficult). Our defense was superb, and had Hall been more assertive I'm not sure Hudds would've scored a try.
All the forwards played their part, Garbutt and Singleton were great, and JP and Cuthbertson really rolled up their sleeves. All the players were great in defense. Burrow was good at DH too, obviously he's no Aiton, but he was solid. I thought it was a great move by McDermott to have Ward defending more centrally, we didn't look vulnerable in the middle, at all.
Ward is a big loss though, it looks a serious one.
