I rate ablett think he is a good player, but am realistic with what he brings.

There are several players like ablett, bailey is another example.

They are under rated by opposition fans and as a result we tend to over rate them

Ablett is a vital cog in our side. Don't think there should be any over rating of that, it's quite simple that that is what he is. In comparison to our other backrowers (JJB excepted to an extent) he is way above them, and therefore naturally highly rated.

Bailey isn't a vital cog in the side. He is better than than the replacements that come in when he is out, and the team improvs with him, but not vital to the team to perform,

Don't get me wrong ablett has always been one of my favourite players. Just think that some people over rate him and the reason is other teams masively under rate him

I rate Ablett very highly. Very highly indeed.

He's a superb back rower with a fantastic work rate and half deecent pair of hands. He can also cover left centre to a very accomplished level.

I think Ablett does a decent enough job put he doesn't quite punch his weight for a big fella. I still see him as one of the 'blinkers' in the team.

IMO that summary under rates the lad.

Ablett is a very good player. A bit behind the very best backrowers, but a player I wouldn't swap for too many. The same goes for JJB. IMO Leeds really lack a real line-breaking second row - and have for years except when a fit Ali was on the field. Having said that, there simply aren't too many of them about.

It's a term that was used by Alan Smith in the early seventies to seperate the players that had the required intestinal fortitude from those that didn't quite.

Ablett, I sense, is more Ian Kirke than Barrie McDermott.
