Quote: LeedsPokerGuru "It's easier to look elite outside senior because he's a top centre. Donald struggles on the right where others have not. Gibson gave him some good ball but saints defended him well. Hall has excelled on the left even without as much pace so pace isn't as key as may be thought. As he's a rhino 09 we should keep him with Senior on the left as much as we can.

In my mind I would have cut the [ielite[/i Donald start of season sign a 3 and and let the wing spots be occupied by Smith and one of BJB, Hall, Gibson, Watkins while giving Watkins and Gibson targeted games at centre.'"
Yes Donald's wonder tries against Hull and Catalan last year (to name but two) were all down to him playing outside Senior. icon_rolleyes.gif

He's the best winger at the club by a mile, probably the best in the country the previous two seasons. yet you'd have shown him the door before the start of this year?

Oh, and how surprising, the whino fekkwitts masses slated him at the start, were proven wrong, but a few games with patchy form at the start of this year and the knives are out already.

What a great set of "fans" we have.

Back on topic to the title I'll stick with what I said pre season in that Gibson is currently our our best emerging centre. He's got good centre play in him while watkins has the size and power.

Head to heads make for a good read.

Quote: Tyke's/Rhinos No. 1 Fan "Donald does well outside of Senior because senior draws defenders, allowing Donald space to break through & finish, so Donald should go back to the left.

I really don't rate Hall, and would much rather we had smith back on the right wing, with Watkins inside of him, since he is one who will be big in future.

Gibson is a very good player, and has only just come back from a pretty serious long-term injury. Anyone remember us losing to Hull KR in 2007? Gibbo was our only threat, and IIRC scored a very good hattrick that made the scoreline flattering.

I'd like to see him in the 17 due to his versatility, since he can play anywhere behind scrumhalf. However, I did think he was carrying a bit of weight sunday, so maybe a few more hours on the treadmill will sort him out.'"

Stop it now Francis, I have told you before, reading Wayne Bennetts book doesnt make you an expert.

And you yourself (weeks ago) were agreeing with the call to play Donald back on the left opining that the right side defence excuse was just that (an excuse) and the right sided defensive problem started inside of the wing anyway.

IIRC only LPG has ever mentioned cutting Donald prior to this season starting which I would agree was an out of the box suggestion.

Ok then, I will throw my hat in, Donald was alleged to be anchoring for a deal away from Leeds back to the NRL (with no takers) before he signed his one year extension, at that point I would have cut my losses.

This season he has looked decidedly uninterested at times and his lack of work has been duly noted, for some to throw the same old Leeds fekwitt claim for stating the blatantly obvious is just a reactionary ploy from the usual culprits.

And when he is big in the future then that will be his time to play in the 1st grade. You simply don't select a Championship defending team based on future potential and if you do you risk not being able to defend the title.... at all.

I've always thought he lacked the work rate, at times softc**k tackling, people didn't notice because he covered that up with the tries he scored( which now Hall is managing just fine). At this rate Hall would finish with 20+ from the left.

Which begs the question if your main contribution is finishing and your not doing that then why are you in the team??

Would be a shame to have Hall miss out on a big scoring season but because he can do more on the right Donald will get his meal ticket, and reclaim his messiah status.

One thing is for sure - Keith Senior has made an awful lot of Leeds wingers look good in his time here.

I have said a few times I wouldn't be too upset if both donald and kylie left at the end of the year! As good as they are for us, and I'm not trying to criticise either player, I just think a premium should be placed on overseas players especially ones around 30.

If we were to lose donald and go with smith and hall on the wings I would be happier than keeping donald and not being able to bring in a centre like soliola

As for kylie, he does a job but there are better English players outthere especially lynch who is ooc at the end of the year

Besides Peacock and Graham there isnt a better prop than Kylie in SL, and neither of them hit like a pre slimfast Kylie either.

Lynch? You're not being serious are you?

Donald would be surplus for me, his ginger hair is an issue.

Lynch would make an excellent signing but I can see a few clubs being interested which immediately makes it highly improbable that he would end up at Headingley.

According to King Monkey he was supposed to sign for us earlier in his career but leeds messed him about so i doubt wether he'd be interested anyway.

I did. Like I've said before, a reasoned critique when its' merited.

What I didn't do was make fekkwitted references to him being a softc*ck or having a heart of a pea. Granted the main culprits have been LPG. titchy tinwand and DISA and one does have to make allowances for our special needs posters but its' one thing commenting on how our coaching guru's masterstroke is a dumb idea and another calling for the club to release a dream team winger or using facile insults towards him.
