Fans Forum 28.08.08 Fan from Haydock "I've got one word for you Mr Chairman - Penalty Count"
I've got one word for you all......Steve Hanley
Some Salford fan said to me and I quote "You are by far and away the most Handsome & Knowledgeable Rugby League Fan in England!" I thanked him and went on my Merry way! RIVERCAVE DWELLER OF THE YEAR 2015! "The club used you last night and didn't tell the truth." Quote: El Diablo "It isn't all that pedantic. The RFL and Super League are not the same thing and they have different jurisdictions. Happens in most professional sports these days. Witness the current situation with RU's Heineken Cup if you want to see why the distinction is very important.'"

I completely understand the differnece & the importance of understanding the difference.

I said it was pedantic to pick up on the fact that I'd used the wrong term (I acknowledge that) but ignore the rest of the mail which IMO is the real crux of the issue.

yeah sounds right Wires Chief executive Andy Gatcliffe, Chairman professor Stephen Broomhead, and Owner Simon Moran all agreed we would walk out of the meeting in support of Pearsons dislike of Hetherington.

Quite how they got us out of a crap old stadium into a fantastic facility that makes us money, and to three wembley finals and two grand finals when they haven't got a mind of their own and blindly follow business geniuses like Pearson I'll never know...!!

Quote: fcandy "Interesting point to note that the 6 bottom clubs in SL in 2013, who did not walk out of the meeting last night, all have debts with the RFL that could be called in at short notice. I wonder if that swayed their decision somewhat? Leeds didn’t walk out as it’s clear their chairmen is after the RFL top job in the future. Puzzled as to why saints didn’t walk too?'"

FYI Cas do not owe the RFL anything but contempt for the two unfair relegations , one protecting the French and the other ignoring wigans cheating of the SC . These are facts sonny

Hull Fans hate leeds, they hate it even more that no-one at Leeds really cares about Hull. Adam Pearson needed a new scapegoat considering Kath has been left a while so the hateful misogyny against her was lookng quite misplaced these days. It seems Gary has had to take that role.

Credit to Wire though, they have been quite vocally against these changes the whole way through.

In which case why did they walk out? Why not just vote against? It wasn't even a binding vote. A SL meeting can't determine the structure for the rest of rugby league.

You know, if you're going to make fatuous, potentially damaging statements, it's best to proof-read your source first. As you obviously prefer to do so after the event, I've posted the relevant link above. No, that's quite all right.

But when the RFL have already ' sold ' this new Nirvana to the Championship Clubs ( including some ' cash carrots ' that werent theirs to offer ) it is only the structure of SL that actually matters, everything else follows on from that

As you well know

"The Golden Generation finally has its Golden Fleece! They have Wembley Cup Final winners medals to add to their collection." 23/08/2014:

From that link,

"Former Hull chairperson Kath Hetherington, Gary's wife, is to take over in the same role at Wakefield, giving the family (note not 2 separate clubs....no hidden agenda in the Hull Daily Mail icon_wink.gif ) two votes on all major decisions at Super League level." (Oh well the others are screwed if 2 outta 14 can swing all major voting decisions icon_wink.gif )

"That growing influence of the Hetheringtons (a whopping 14.5% of potential votes btw) is believed to be a source of real concern for the likes of Lenagan, as well as Pearson and Hudgell."

"The six clubs believe as little as four weeks are needed to sort out all the issues in relation to structure and governance (really, shame the Hull ones can't work that quickly to turn their teams into winners or Davy at Hudds to attract decent crowds) and are tired of working to the Hetherington's timescales (awwww, how long has Kath been at Wakey to help implement these wicked timescales in cahoots with the Dark Lord Gary? Maybe we should all go with what the Hetherington's want if Kath can make that quick an impact on meetings led by Barwick who wasn't even in the sport when Kath was at Hull, whilst the rebel 6 quality businessmen feel tricked and as yet unable to make the changes they want).

Ah the Hull Daily Mail.

Wipe your backside on it and you'll end up covered in more poop than you started with.

"However, sources have told the Mail Hetherington's perceived influence in the game, and on the RFL, is one of many concerns the clubs have over the sport's future. "

Not sure how my post was fatuous or damaging when it's what the HDM said, and it's backed up by comments from Pearson.
I suggest you read AND understand the piece before trying to take the p|ss out of someone else.

You mean they don't agree with the other clubs? They could have voted against it in the SL meeting. It would have no effect on whether the structure went through at a future RFL meeting whichever way the vote went, which it seems they would have been in the majority with the absentees at the SL meeting.

There is still no reason to tie a change in RFL governance to a vote on the structure of the league. Either it's a good structure or it's not. It'd be like Ed Milliband saying he won't vote on (in whichever way) a piece of legislation unless theres a general election first.

Weak. You know very well I'm referring to this part of your post
.... which cannot be deduced from anything in that article and, fatuously, trivializes the stance all six clubs felt they were forced into. Which you'd know if you'd read it first. 'Apparently' can be a dangerous word, no 'pi $$-taking' necessary by me, duckie, you've extracted it from your urethra all by yourself.
