Exactly and this has been reported for a while through multiple sources.
It's all good though isn't it Sir Kevin Sinfield, Argyle has it all under control.

| Doesnt it seem strange that Toronto players never know when they are getting paid yet players are always queueing up to gp there and agents never stop them going by the looks. Pretty close knit group RL players yet none of them seem to talk other players out of going there.
Doesnt add up to me. Seems odd.

| I know what you are saying Marty but agents/players will sign up where more money is being offered.
Has echoes of Salford under Koukash to me.

Sadly I think you are right. No doubt Argyle is a wealthy guy but he didn't get that way by throwing his money away. There is no money to be made in RL yet I imagine it takes a fair bit of dosh to set up from scratch, come up through the league's flying whole squads over all season with little fan base.
Toronto simply wouldn't survive without him and the sport is looking at clubs in NYC and Ottawa. It's a wonderful pipe dream but I just don't see how it works longterm.

No money to be made in North American sport???? Im not saying they will or wont but Argylle knows 1 TV or major sponsorship deal will make his investment look like a very wise move.
The potential of Toronto and soon Ottawa is staggering compared to teams over here and that is why we should offer as much support as possible.
Unfortunately RL is too short sighted and has no vision or ambition whatsoever. Union has a professional league in States in next year or so. They will reap the benefits no doubt.

So its the Sports fault if another PR Stunt of a Club fails?
What type of "support" should be offered exactly?
If it fails the blame is the Owners/,Directors fault for not having a Clue how to build & maintain a pro RL Club just like it was with PSG & Celtic Crusaders we may have numerous issues we need the RGL/SL to get a grip on running their Club for them isnt one of them.

What has failed exactly tho? Nothing. The issue is people are desperate for it to fail.
I repeat, and ive no idea if it will happen, but if Toronto and Ottawa can attract a TV deal or a mega sponsorship deal in the North American sports market it will be a game changer for the entire sport.
Rugby Union are trying and so should we.
When i talk about support, is asking them for 500k just to play in the Challenge Cup the right way to go? Or is that a move to cheese them off? The visa issues which should be sorted by the RFL and Toronto are constsntly causing issues, bad headlines and nonsense really needs to gotten a grip of. Thats the support im talking about.
The amount of people getting giddy on social media about Toronto folding last week was unreal especially when they all knew they have just signed Watkins, Ward, Myler and looks like Hall. Does that sound like a club about to fold? Are those players really signing for a club that doesnt pay its players? Its all people who see more potential in Whitehaven than Canada desperate for it to fail im afraid.
Toronto could actually be good for RL.

| Exactly. Toronto don't seem like a very well run club, and there are definitely issues that need sorting, but if RL can gain even a 1 or 2% share of of the north American market then that's probably worth more than the entire British game.

| Everything that’s been said of TWP could be said of London Broncos. If either of their owners walked away the club would go bust the next day, I just really don’t think David Argyle’s going anywhere.

Isn’t that just the complete contradiction of what is said on the transfer thread? They are doing exactly what people are saying Leeds and others shouldn’t do, yet it is ok if it’s Toronto.
Think about it Marty. They are shafting some, as shown by these reports, in order to make publicity news signings. When these new players also fail to get paid, it will be rinse, repeat.

Toronto Wolfpack are set to add Halifax forward Paul Brearley to their squad in 2021.
League Express can reveal the Wolfpack are close to finalising a deal.
He is Toronto’s second signing from the Championship ahead of 2021, with Brearley set to join Toulouse’s James Bell in Brian McDermott’s squad next season.
Deals for Ryan Hall, Stevie Ward, Richie Myler and Ben Flower are all thought to have been completed for next year too.
Meanwhile, League Express understands current Wolfpack backrower Bodene Thompson has signed a new long-term deal with the club.
Thompson, 31, joined the club last season and has gone on to make 27 appearances for the club, scoring five tries.
A Super League Grand Finalist with Warrington in 2018, Thompson is believed to have signed a multi-year deal with the club and joins the likes of Gareth O’Brien, Matty Russell and Anthony Mullally in committing to the club.

| I’m sure they have some short term financial problems, which no doubt will be sorted by David Argyle, but if things were so bad how would TWP be managing to sign and keep so many high profile players for 2021?

| The problem isn't resources, they just don't seem to be run very professionally. I hope they get things sorted. They could be great for the game.
