| Quote: Fallon "I'm not convinced he is right for them in the long term. Totally agree with the squad at his disposal he would get them promoted.
But then the trouble would start. The team they come up with will struggle without new signings and his record at doing that at Leeds was patchy - though you may argue that was hetheringtons fault. Just not sure he could go and build a squad capable of climbing up SL once they are in.'"
I think long term you may well be right but if they're purely interested in the here and now/getting promoted I reckon he'd do a job.

| Any half decent coach should get them out of the Championship really.Mac would be a good choice. Agree with Fallon though, how far he could take them beyond promotion is well up for debate.

| I'm not so sure - his "get them up for the big game" ability is unquestionable. The issue is the hum drum weekly rounds. We saw it at Leeds, it was the same when he was at London. Look like world beaters one week against a top club, lose in a shocking manner to low end table teams. Yes he would probably be great for them at the business end of the season, but he has to get them through the full season to a position where they are in the business end.

Sure I read that the Championship is to adopt the 5 team play off system next year. Made for McD if so.

I thought it'll just be the team who finishes top gets promoted?
Personally, I hope they do go with a play off format, it'd be great for the championship.

| Listening to Wilkin on his podcast it would appear Toronto have identified the need for a significant increase in professionalism if they are to achieve their end goal. Rowley was a thug as a player and his teams mirror that attitude. McDermott could take them to another level - McCrone needs to be shown the door if they are to improve on the field - sadly he is typical of the standard of NRL players we get in the UK
