| According to some Bulls fans on Twitter, the postponement is part of a pro-Rhinos conspiracy to ensure we are sufficiently rested for Thursday.
Obviously.

Just read some of these
If they are that fussed why haven't they offered to go help clean the streets around Belle Vue?

| What about Wednesday 26 June as a new date?
Leeds play Sunday 23 June and Suinday 30 June
Wakefield play Sunday 23 June and Monday 1 July.
That would probably suit both parties assuming it couldn't be slotted in on a Challenge Cup weekend.

| Depends how the CC run goes.
Catalans vs Hull 2012 & Quins vs Bulls 2009 were early season games that got cancelled due to the weather and both were played the weekend of the CC Semi's, but all those teams were knocked out of the cup by that stage.
I'd guess that we might not see a decision made until after the 13th/14th (CC Quarter Finals) if 1 or both teams make it to the final 8.
April, May and June don't really have any gaps so IF we make it to the CC Semi's I'd go for this way......
JULY 5th - Warrington (A)
JULY 13th/14th - CC Quarters
JULY 19th - Wakey (H)
JULY 27th/28th - CC Semi
JULY 31st - Wakey (A)
AUGUST 5th - London (A)
AUGUST 9th - Salford (A)
That would be a Wednesday night, midweek isn't too bad considering it's a short travel. IF we get to the CC Semi ask to play the Saturday game and not the Sunday one. Afterwards we are scheduled for a Monday night game away to London so will have 5 days between games......Wakey play Bradford on the Sunday, which is only 4 days but both are at home for them.

Get it right. That was a conspiracy to put them out of existence, which they managed to overcome.

| Quote: Old Feller "Our blessed coach has recently advocated a shorter season starting later with some midweek games.
He's getting his wish earlier than he imagined.'"
I guess there will be no complaints from McDermott now whenever the games are played then?
Quote: Old Feller "Brian McDermott believes the season starts too early and tells peter smith The opening rounds should begin later on for the good of the game. Leeds Rhinos boss Brian McDermott has called for a later start to the Super League season. Rhinos will travel to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats tomorrow afternoon, two days after the game was postponed due to heavy snow. The competition’s opening fixtures were played on February 1 this year and nine of the 27 weekly rounds will be completed before British Summer Time begins this weekend. In 2010 there was an even earlier start, Leeds kicking off in a blizzard at Wrexham on January 29. In Super League’s first season – 1996 – round one did not take place until the final weekend in March. There were only 22 league games that year, but McDermott reckons playing mid-week matches, to catch up, is a price worth paying for a later start. '"
Leeds (and Harlequins) kicked off a week earlier than the rest of SL in 2010 to accommodate the WCC and prevent the need to have to find a spot later in the season. They've gone for a different solution since then.
While it's true to say the SL Regular Rounds originally kicked off much later in 1996 it's untrue to imply that the season itself started then. Before round 1 we had four rounds of Challenge Cup ties spread over the preceding eight weeks with the first kicking off (for Leeds) on the 4th February so much the same season kick-off weekend as we had this season.
It's not as if the programme of fixtures have come about by accident. If he doesn't like the present format, he needs to be take it up with the sports administrators and you'd have to imagine he's pretty close to one of the most influential ones in the sport.

| And what makes you think he hasn't?
The sensible solution from a playing perspective is a return to a 12 team top division, which assuming straight home and away plus Magic weekend takes four weeks off the length of the season.
That's not likely to happen any time soon, so in the meantime why not play a couple of rounds midweek through the height of summer?
Mandate to clubs that games over the affected period will be played Friday-Wednesday-Sunday, and have one week like that in June and another at the start of August so there's some time between them.
Means you can move the start to the season back a fortnight, giving the players an extra couple of weeks off to rest between seasons.

| I wish they'd move the cup back to the start of the season with the final replacing the Magic weekend.
That also spreads the burden of cost for those of us who go to the cup final & the playoff games.

The clubs in SL can't make ends meet in a season with 27 games in. I can't see that they'd vote to decrease their income by 20%
