In answer to the thread title, I think the price is too high but the cost is too low.

Now I will post alittle more seriously.
If people are prepared to pay these prices, then why should the prices change?

If all Supporters of the clubs who travelled to france did not drink from any pub in perpignon, then maybe they would change the pricing. But lets be honest, people are not going to not drink all weekend are they? It does seem some see the weekend as the main reason to drink.


Personally, I have been to Perpignon once, and don't see it as anything extra special, and the world is too bigger place to spend my money going there every year. If some chavs see it as a good weeked to get drunk and get upto their usual antics, then I would reccommened (sp) Blackpool over Perpignon.


I will no doubt visit again, but for me, it is not a priority.

Supply and demand, market forces, call it what you will. When you have a few thousand Northerners turning up demanding several gallons of lager, you'd be an idiot as a local bar owner not to take advantage of that.

France has a far different culture towards drinking than we have in the UK and, in a city centre bar, those prices are fairly normal as the French tend not to go on ale-fuelled weekenders.

Perhaps it's British supporters who should engage more in the local culture?

wat am tring to say is if the prices were lower more poeple would sit down and eat and drink thous incuraging more people to do so i think if a pint was 4 euros it would not be so bad but 7 is a stupid price in these difficult times

Do you only get 1pound pocket money a week now compared to the fiver you used to get?

Try Paris or even Barcelona, you wont get as much change from a €10 note.

If you're struggling for cash, then the €250 flight / hotel fee is probably more of a concern that a €6 half litre of lager.

People don't get more / less hungry just because the prices are higher or lower, nor does the price of a drink affect people's thirst levels. If a bar is charging too much, then the lack customers and empty tills will let them know that.

Look at the exchange rate then think about it would you if u was 18would u pay 7 euros for a pint when the pound is nerly the same 7 euros is almost 7 pounds

Why the need to spend the whole weekend drinking half litres (they don't sell "pints" on the continent) of lager?

I've said it before, why not try engaging in some local activities / cultures?
