I got a Zen creative and found it really, really user friendly.

However, there's a loose connection in the battery and it keeps losing power than takes forever to re-build the library,

So I bought an I-Pod touch. Which is actually pretty neat, though the novelty wore off fairly quickly.

Anyway, I bought the Wife a pink I-pod a few years back and the ungrateful cow rarely uses it.

I use mine in the gym ( it Field) and on holidays. That's it.

Everyone I know that has tried the Fuze say's they'll never go back to an iPod.

(Edit for balance - I also considered the creative zen - but opted for the Fuze. The Fuze is better for music but the Zen is stronger on video...my priority was for music)

I've had an email from Apple today, advertising their new iPod nano, which apparently talks to you, telling you details of each track.

Why??

It is also ridiculously small, but no doubt people will buy it to join the 'Look at me, I have the new Apple iPod' Facebook group.

My old CD Walkman works fine, plays MP3's and gets an airing a few times a year on holidays.

I think its the new iPod clip but as you say it's pointless.

It's a great bit of spin that - look at our shiny new toy it speaks talks to you...yeah it only has to do that because they haven't put a display on it (sometimes the existing solution really is the best!)

Also they haven't bothered to put any controls on the player they're all on the headphones...great so you can only buy Apple headphones now...you've gotta hand it to Apple they are the kings of product tying.

what is exactly wrong with it?

won't transfer songs across. each time i connect it to the pc it transfers less and less songs. should have 2000 songs and now it's down to 40!
done everything i can think off to cure it bit it won't have it

What type of ipod do you have? You should be able to completety reset it, if you hav'nt already tried!

tried all that mate and it made it worse. it loads less and less songs each time i connect to the pc.
it's a 2nd generation nano, about 3 years old

Oh well once last try when you plug in the ipod and load itunes click on devices then the music tab and make sure it is syncing all songs and playlists not selected playlists. Hope this helps

tried all that and it won't even send over one of the playlists now. can't see it being the pc,got to be the i-pod i think
