I agree with the Ferres point, I found it odd. The only thing I can think is that sinny was hoping the extra responsibility would bring more out of him. Clearly it didn't work. |

Well I'm still hoping for the mystery prop signing... there are still 4/5 players in this squad who really shouldn't be, and I'd rather swap them out for 1 more higher quality signing IMO. There are enough good youngsters coming through to cover for mild injury situations. Ferres at 16... well as long as this is his last year to show up. Hope Ward does play LF.

Looks that way, at least for the season's start. I suspect Briscoe joined on a low salary with perhaps a dangled carrot that if he could displace Handley by next year then the 5 shirt - and probably a £ upgrade - would be his. I think if I was him that would seem a gamble worth pursuing. |

I don't think that is the case, just he has been at the club in and around the first team squad longer than L briscoe so gets a higher squad number, think L briscoe and handley will fight it out in the off season to see who gets the starting shirt. |

Thought Ormanroyd was already gone, thought he had gone to York for some reason, him and walters definitely championship at best players. not sure what your other 2 are, i assume one will be Mullally |

Yes I don't think any of the players you mention offer something which an academy prospect couldn't. Mullally has looked OK in patches to be fair to him.
I expect to see something of Holroyd and Newman this year to be honest. I just get the sense that Leeds have made a big heave, but haven't quite got over the line yet with reorganising the squad - tantalisingly close. Maybe one of two of the injury cloud/question marks will sort themsevles out this year, I'm an optimist.
The young lads will be ambitious to make first grade and putting plenty of pressure on the established players. I would imagine there will be another couple of changes through the course of the season, but there will be another handful of departures for definite for 2020 season (we know about JJB already)... |
