Whilst the defeats to London and Bradford where shocking, as others have stated the sides picked where easily heed enough to win those games, and the players blew a big lead at London not the coach. I have been critacl at times of mac but he has now got his to and won 5 out of 7 possible finals, in 3 and4 5ths seasons. He has tried to manage resources and tactics the best he can and has got it wrong sometimes, but if in his next 302-3 seasons he has a similar strike rate that will do me.

Out of interest, what do folk make of Powell's coaching on Saturday? I seem to recall a thread not long back in which a few were mooting him as a possible replacement for B Mc D. Me, I'll stick.

Think powell has been a breath of fresh air this year with his cas side.my opinion on him havn't changed post cup final, I just think whoever faced us on saturday wouldn't have faired any better than cas did, infact I think its a credit they got as close as they did.im sure he will learn as much as his team from saturdays experience.

Would I still have him back at leeds in the future? Most definitely.

you judging powell on one game?
that mean you will judge BM on one game too? london, wakefield or bradford maybe?

The test for Powell now is can he come up with something to work when the next team try and replicate our victory plan.

I was even happier going back, and then drinking our way to the hotel. Three great nights/days in that there London, and Leeds didn't spoil it!

I don't think Brian deserves any criticism for last night's defeat.

Leeds were superb for an hour before the extra man took it's toll.

So you don't think the utilisation of 2 extra forwards might have alleviated that "toll"...and thus been the factor you think was instrumental in the loss?

Not one to use Opta personally but those that do can't have helped but notice how much more even the ten St Helens forwards shared their defensive duties when compared to the Leeds eight - not rocket science I know but it does highlight one effect of not fully utilising the bench.
