I Suppose the point is that in spite of injuries that kept him from training, he at least put his hand up, taking a battering from the opposition - and from the home fans - in the process. Yet some would prefer to see a contract awarded to a recently-exported player, who seemingly did none of this, instead. Ferres may not be the best player in the world but he's more honest than some perhaps.

Not at all "Honesty" doesn't mean he's been worth the money or any way excuses how poor a signing he's been. Comparison with other players is pointless he's been a waste of a contract.

He has been a poor signing. But if you read back, posters were querying why he was made captain and accusing him of having a poor attitude. All I am saying is that there were others with far worse application and attitude and, having looked into the culture at the club, it seems Sinfield agrees and is firmly pointing the finger elsewhere.

I honestly think other than signing Thompson & picking Walters making Ferres Captain was one of the worst calls any Rhinos Coach has ever made & imo made it clear Sinfield was out of his depth as Head Coach/ DOR

I think all we can take out of the back end of last year is that by hook or crook, we survived. McD used to wind me up in under-using Burrow, losing our front row (ironically) and his stubbornness with only using 3 players from the bench. All coaches have their quirks and we all think we could make better choices (without access to the player telemetry, conditioning reports, personal interaction, training performance etc etc)... what is for certain is that any head coach can and will lose their jobs in the end if they get it wrong!

Unless you are privy to the inner workings of the team/squad you have no idea why Ferres was made captain for those games, lets judge Sinfield as DR on the next few years, to judge him on the end of last year is ridiculous IMO

I agree with the Ferres point, I found it odd. The only thing I can think is that sinny was hoping the extra responsibility would bring more out of him. Clearly it didn't work.

Well I'm still hoping for the mystery prop signing... there are still 4/5 players in this squad who really shouldn't be, and I'd rather swap them out for 1 more higher quality signing IMO. There are enough good youngsters coming through to cover for mild injury situations. Ferres at 16... well as long as this is his last year to show up. Hope Ward does play LF.
