as has been said, he did ok which isnt ok for a starting prop that needs to have impact make meters with a high number of carries and being able to dominate contact.. Goudemand if Holroyd isnt back and possibly Ruan in the mix.

| Quote: Ex-Swarcliffe Rhino "Agreed, I think we looked worse than we actually played due the constant stop / start nature of the game which lets face it was Salfords entire gameplan for Friday. Its hard to build momentum when the other team is cynically running in / flailing around on the ground and generally poophousing their way through a game. When we did have a settled period of possession we looked ok, clunky and still building the combinations but ok.
HKR for all their faults are very much an attacking team and with them being at home and riding the crest of a wave after dismantling FC they will / should be buoyed with confidence and give us a real game so I cant see them going for the same slowing down tactics.
TBF, they kicked us to death in this game last year and much will depend on the weather come Thursday night but it should be another electric atmosphere and hopefully a good game we can squeak.'"
They kicked us to death but they had Jordan Abdul - they have a lack of decent in game kickers now
Totally agree about the slowing down on Friday, but my point was that yes we know we are probably a prop short but we didn't struggle or get dominated in that area on Friday.
Hull KR don't have a huge set of props either.

I totally agree Donno should not be starting at prop - I think both him and Gourmand played a bit of hybrid roles on Friday but anyway hopefully when TNW and Holroyd are back fit it won't happen very often.

Always liked Donno off the bench once the sting has gone out of the game and he can deploy his speed and iron chin to win us easy penalties coming away from our line.

He carried the ball for 30m with an average gain of 4m.
Not sure that qualifies as ok and definitely not as a starting prop. Bentley made 35m with an average 5m gain theres no room for both of them in a starting pack!

| The pack is really struggling now without oledszki (shoulder, gulp...)this week and no return of Holroyd.

| That’s a big blow, he looked back to his 2022 form on Friday, hope it’s not serious

| And its exactly what we all feared, losing two front line props and we're looking very light in the pack.

We didn’t get dominated at prop as such but Donno and Bentley were dominated. Contrast Tariq Sims with Bentley. Rest my case.

In fairness any side losing their first two props would see them looking light. Bar wigan maybe.
Makes Thursday a tough task now id like to see TNW rewarded for his pre season performances

Yep this sucks badly. We are going to have to play TNW and possibly get Ruan involved too.

| Going into the season we were always over reliant on one pack leader in Oledszki, this situation has come to the forefront much earlier than feared. As you say with everything crossed its nothing serious .
For me id have
Goudemand
Ackers
Lisone (not ideal starting him)
McDonnell
Martin
Smith
Sangare
TNW
Ruan
Oconnor

| Hopefully Mik Oledzki shoulder injury isn't a serious one we can't afford to lose him for a long period of time especially with Holroyd still out as well. Wouldn't surprise me if he's picked that injury up from that awkward tackle he got when he was flipped on his neck was very dangerous from the 3 Salford tacklers.
I reckon we go with
Miller
Roberts
Newman
Momirovski
Handley
Croft
Frawley
Lisone
Ackers
Donaldson
Martin
Goudemand
Smith
Subs
Bentley/ Mcdonnell
O'Connor
Sangare
Ruan
I don't think we'll throw Nicholson-Watton in and I do think Ruan is ahead of him Sangare will be needed this week definitely and hopefully he puts his weight about because we do look light in the pack with Mik & Holroyd and Hudson missing.

True, though for us we put a lot of faith in Holroyd as our number 2 who still hasnt proved much and has an inconsistent playing record. Thats the real problem.
