| Quote: The Magic Rat "Defeats are never easy to take but some are better than others and that was one of the best. Thought we were the better team for the majority of the game after Castlefords great start.
Agree we looked better when Walker came on but I also thought Golding did a decent job at hooker. Wonder if it was always the intention to give him a stint there.
A lot to like for both teams, but as we know it's a long season.
Think we have to persevere with Watkins as our goalkicker. He is not in the same league as Sinny or Gale atm but is the best we have got imo.'"
You are right about Golding who tightened our middle defence up and was effective in the hooker role on one of those rare occasions when Parcell was having an off night.

| Great decision by Brian Mac to bring Parcell off. it turned the game. I've said for a long time he's a poser and when you break his games down he devalues the team. I can't believe you don't have a better kicker than Callum. Sort it or it will cost you more close games.

| McDermott wasn't happy with the ref, particularly with the 2 penalties against Watkins for a shoulder charge, and Briscoe for a tackle in the air. Apparently, neither were penalties based on what was agreed between the coaches and the refs in pre-season.

Again the ref was inconsistent Milner got away with a shoulder charge.
Not too disappointed least we showed some heart. My only disappointment was Delaney didn’t leather Gale. Can’t stand him.
Thought mcshane has come on loads since his leeds days

Haven't watched it back but on the night I thought Kendall was poor and gave us little. There looked to be a couple of Premier League style flops to buy penalties as well - don't want to see that creeping in.

I'd happily let you have this lot back if we had Garbutt, Cuthbertson, Ward and Sutcliffe available.

No idea what was agreed pre-season but challenges similar to Briscoe's have been penalised routinely for several years now including this one. Don't see how he can have any issue there tbh. Watkins' one, I didn't see too clearly; if it was a shoulder charge it was a pretty feeble one.

Not to mention Ferres, Peteru, Keinhorst, Dwyer & Ormondroyd. And I suppose we should count the missing forward caused by Galloway leaving. Quite an injury list.

I wouldnt count no ormondroyd as a loss. Don’t know why but feel a bit concerned with Peteru, I’m not fully convinced we will see him play again for us

| Despicable first 15 minutes from us last night, ultimately it cost us the game, we simply did not turn up they did not have to work hard for any of their trys. After that superb dominated the game and really should have won.
But getting a bit sick of these regular round no shows against them, it’s embarrassing now. Need to give them a good hiding next time we play.

I was thinking that.
And with galloway gone and ferres just never playing we are essentially 3 players missing all starters in theory.
And really geeling that Stevie ward is going to have to retire young as well.

I think stevie ward will be fine. I’m hoping we are doing the right think with ferries he wasn’t fit last year hopefully when he does play he will be injury free this year

| Thought our starting front row were poor, neither prop offered any punch whatsoever and parcell had an off night. Think singleton averaged less than 5 meters a carry.
Myler and walker were very good again, mylers had a great start to his leeds career. Walker should be first choice fb imo, goldings good but walkers a level above. Thought handley looked out of his depth early on but turned it around with a brilliant second half, think he's got some real interesting attributes and could be a top player when he fills out his frame, especially at where high balls wont be as much of an issue.
Im one of walters biggest critics, but thought he played well last night.
