It's flawed because some were subbed off, on 3 occasions it was Sinnie himself, some didn't play as a Loose despite being named there, and one of the players in question was Weller Hauraki.
I agree with you – Sinny is a better defensive option at 13 than say… Hauraki.
The point I was trying to make is that with Sinny defending out wide doesn’t necessarily mean that fewer tackles are being completed on a whole.

much criticised coach. Burrow was poor at the start of the season and his main weekness is lack of organisational skills, a reason he has not progressed as an international. '"
True, although he's more than adequate in this regard if he's playing behind a dominant pack. I think his game dips when he has to put in too many tackles on bigger players and also when his forwards aren't making the yards they should.

Yes, I agree entirely. On the whole, the Ablett/Clarkson/Hauraki/Kirke/JJB Hybrid Loose Forward has made a similar amount of tackles to what Sinnie would've made. 50 odd less, but still. Similar.
The point I'm making though is people seem very quick to say "Doesn't make a difference whether he plays at 6 or 13, he plays the same role anyway. What's all the fuss about?!" etc etc, but they're basing that purely on Sinfield the attacker. Who does play a very similar role whether he's at 6 or 13.
Sinfield the defender though... does not. He plays an entirely different game when named at 6, to when he's named at 13. All I'm saying, is that this should be taken into account when discussing the pros and cons. If the person takes it in to account, and still prefers him at 6, fine.
My personal opinion is that the LF position is suffering whilst ever Sinfield is playing at SO because we don't have anybody who can do as good (or better) a job but the SO position wouldn't be suffering if Sinfield weren't playing there, because we do have somebody who can do as good (or better) a job.
Give it a scoring system,
Sinfield at Stand Off (9/10), Clarkson/Ablett/Hauraki/Kirke/JJB at Loose (average of 7/10).
Total for the two positions: 16/20.
McGuire at Stand Off (9/10), Sinfield at Loose (10/10).
Total for the two positions: 19/20.

But IF he does come, and Buderus doesn't go. There is no room at the club for McGuire, Burrow, Chase, Buderus AND McShane.
The most likely outcome IMO, based on McDermott this year is that Burrow would likely be used as the "impact" hooker, with McGuire/Chase at 6/7, and there'd be no spot for McShane.
Which would mean that we'd lose McShane. Now, as much as I've loved watching Bedsy at Leeds, and I really REALLY have, I'd rather he went this year than risk losing McShane for the next 10 years.'"
If Chase does sign for us I'm assuming that Mcguire/Chase would be at 6/7 as you say but McShane could be the starting hooker with Burrow the interchange impact hooker where he's been really good lately. However would Rob want that role next season? Any news on Buderus going back to the nights? Sinfield would revert to loose forward which suits his strengths more and the team benefit. The only problem is we've got to sign Chase?

This was after quotes in the papers and on the BBC website that Chase knew nothing about leaving Cas and thought all the rumours of him going to this club or that club funny! I hope your source is right and Chase was only bluffing but it doesn't seem right.
I like McShane but he does not seem to figure in McD's plans. Do we know if Buderus is definitely going back to the Knights?'"
I was told about 6weeks ago that Buderus had been granted his release however the club had still not decided what to do regarding a replacement. You would think that it would be Mcshane, and Burrow as interchange but then Ive heard Mcdermott is not looking at Mcshane and there would be a replacement for Buderus with Burrow off the Bench. Ben fisher was mentioned to me as a possibility on a short deal to give Hood another year to develope. to be Honest i havent got a clue all I know for definate is Buderus is going and Mcshane and Hood have both just been offered improved new 4yr deals

Lets put it this way when Burrow has come off the bench at 9 we all agree his impact has been positive but what about when Buderus returns and Burrow reverts to 7 how has that gone?
Like i posted i know how i would like the 6,7,9 and 13 to line up and what gives us the better balance.
The "Golden Triangle" have shown they can STILL perform in their respective roles and for me that's the better option and no matter how it's dressed up Burrows form this past 2/3 months warrants a return to his starting 7 role.

I think Burrow has been the better out of himself & McGuire. Its just that Burrow is more flexible.

Can't disagree with that LR Mags' injury has taken much longer to get over than many had hoped
I still would'nt drop Mags either though he needs as much gametime as possible.
I just think having all 3 in their respective positions with Buderus at 9 gives us more threat and IF we persist with a 9 off the bench Mcshane is more than capable imo.

| If we sign Rangi Chase in the next 12 months then I'll run down Briggate with my 'arris out.

So we go back to what we were more or less doing for the first two thirds of the season?
It didn't work then we were pants. Not sure whether we are what we seem now, but there is no escaping the fact that the team looks a damn site better with this change.
You hit the nail on the head in your call on what happens when Buderus returns and we do switch to the triangle you want. The difference is though that in the main, at that point thus far, we have had the momentum and usually in the winning position.
Not convinced that it would work from the start, and personally I think the bigger issue here is not whether Burrow should be scrum half, but whether playing with two out and out hookers is really the way to go. Personally I think that is the sticking point in the coaches head, and the reason he is going the way he is. Because by not having two "out and out" hookers it gives a better balance to the 17, and I personally agree with him on that.

I've also heard about the possibility of Ben Fisher coming for1/2 years to give more time for McShane and Hood to develop.
Are you still confident from what you've heard from your contact that Chase will be joining us? If not Chase we do need a new half-back if Burrow is moving to 9.

more chance of resigning Senior than Chase. Chase will not be a Rhino...not in 2012 anyway

What about Jack Reed from the Broncos? I know it's on another thread but it does seem odd making this commitment when you would think he's very close to selection for SOO in the first instance. Of course it could be another club over here that's involved!
