| Quote: Swoggy Loiner "Does this mean that our game with Cas will now be called off, as they surely can’t raise a side yet again?'"
Had our game v you not been called off last time, the chances are youd have had numerous players have to isolate for the cup final and probably lost it.
Christ some of the comments on here are totally embarrassing.
I reckon 9/12 clubs have had numerous positive covids since the restart, more so since schools went back.
Salford had 2 that had to miss a final ffs! Wasps in RU had 11 missing for a final.

| Be interesting to see a list of positive cases at each club. I believe Leeds have only had one case in Dwyer?
People will likely disagree with me I suspect albeit, I think there is a lack of professionalism when one club is getting 12 positive cases in the same week.
Looks like Hurrell and Myler are two of the four missing. Mellor, Martin, Gale and Dwyer do not appear to have been impacted.

| It's understandable to see some resentment - I think Leeds have been particularly stringent and asked players to make sacrifices to stay healthy. I'm sure other clubs have too but you can see where the sentiment comes from when our season is becoming derailed.
It's also important to recognise though that catching COVID isn't a challenge, and it's out and rife in the community. If you have kids in nursery or school, or at Uni, it's just transmission risk and there's not much you can do about it.
My kids have been riddled with colds and God knows what immediately on returning to childcare - if a cold can get through all the protocols then COVID will have a field day, as our immunology is so naive to the virus.
It's just one of those things. Blaming isn't particularly helpful in this situation. If I caught COVID from my kids there's not much I can do about it - I can't not go to work, I can't keep them at home, and therefore we have this inherent risk. Rugby League players have kids too, and partners who might work in high-risk environments etc.
The only way to guarantee protection is to isolate from anyone else effectively, and bubble tightly with your family units, and in practice it's just not possible to sustain that.
Let's just hope that the world becomes more normalised for the majority of next season, because that won't happen unless we get an effective vaccine first.

| I understand after watching GH video yesterday to fans that our COVID tests all came back negative on Tues. this was before the news broke about Cas. Whilst it’s not great the amount of positive results from Cas it could easily have come from just one player in training who’s given it to all the rest. Let’s not be too judgmental on them. Fingers crossed all ok and recover.

I know it's difficult, but a club shouldn't be getting 12 positives in one week. Come from just one player in training? protocols should be place to minimise transmition in training if a player is carrying, distancing for meetings, training in groups and minimising everyone being together at once.
It shouldn't happen and has hardly happened at any other professional sports club. I'm sick of what I personally suspect is others clubs shoddiness screwing up the season. Why are the top clubs generally getting so few positives? You'd never get 12 in one week at saints, or wigan.

| Yes I agree that 12 is very unusual and it looks like something has gone wrong on the face of it

| So what squad have we put together for today based on the news about the 4 players due to miss the rest of the season? Do we know yet or did I miss something?

| TBF to Cas they were stuck on M62 for a while last week on the way to Saints (what a great idea that is having four Yorkshire teams travel over the M62).

Well will the rest of the league compensate those who will miss out on TV money by cutting the league short?

You don`t just have to stand players down if they have had a positive test though, it is all down to the track and trace and playing bubbles, Leeds had to stand down 7 or 8 players I believe against Hudds due to one of your players coming into contact with the virus.

| Quote: christopher "To be fair comparisons with the NRL are futile, Australia has nowhere near the level of Covid infections/cases as we have in the UK, and the NRL has the cash to enforce stricter protocols.
I think this is now a massive catalyst to ending the regular season as soon as possible, have a week or two break then go into a playoff with top 6 or even 8'"
Good call. Make the teams isolate for 2 weeks before they start, and stay in those bubbles during the playoffs.

Think players should be on house arrest untill after playoffs now.
Their partners should not be allowed to work.
Children out of school.
These playoffs in empty stadiums are so important.

| Anybody can catch covid and there should be no blame attached. Clearly their has been a breakdown in protocol to have so many positive tests in one location.People have to go about our normal lives and will be come infected however an employer has responsibility to put process in place to minimise risk and individuals have responsibility to follow the rules. If this is in place positive cases should broadly follow the infection rate in the area the club is based. After that it comes down to individuals behaviours
