This has frustrated me over the last few years. Not since Brent Webb have we had a fullback who consistently runs support lines.
Every time Peacock took the ball in, Webb would run past him, even if 4/5 times he didn't get an offload away. From what I've seen of Miller, he's not the playmaker fullback type, so would like to see him run off Smith, Oledzki, Sangare a lot.

That’s true, guess I just like a bit of pace in the back row. Don’t you think Smith is exceptionally slow though?

Agreed. There were so many times last year where the break happened and the only real natural support player was myler, who isn’t exactly as quick as he used to be.
As you say Croft and Miller should be a big improvement in that sense. Maybe not quite to the old days of Burrow, Magsy and Webb but perhaps as close to that as we’ve been in a while.

| To be fair Myler is a pretty good support runner when he's fit. He was never the organising or play-making half that we needed, but IMO he plays in a similar style to Webb (after Webb's back injury robbed him of his pace).

Miller is going to be a completely different beast to Myler, because his strength, footwork and speed off the mark will mean he comes up with lots of line breaks. He's also very good playing down the right side (as is Croft) and that in itself will bring a new dimension to our attack.

If you watch NRL round 4 Miller does have a nice link up pass in him as well as being a line breaker.

I've watched a fair few full games now and he has a few strings to his bow: lovely catch and pass skills; short and long drop outs; big penalty kicks to touch and a decent goalkicker as well. To balance that, he isn't a defensive stopper in the Hardaker mode, and he does have the odd mistake in him. He dropped a real clanger in the early minutes of round 5 against Manly ( got his positioning completely wrong and let them score unchallenged) but he really rolled his sleeves up after that and was as good as any other player on the field. I think he's going to be great for us.

It was a random country ground in Mudgee and he confused the try line with the 10m line, was a bit WTF happened there watching it.
