I would guess that this would have been the take in 2017 too, and that was in Australia.
We won't win it but I don't think we will be copping a load of hidings. Such a shame to be missing some genuine talents like Newman, Lomax and Walmsley who IMO are miles ahead of their proposed replacements unfortunately (good to see people finally recognising Lomax btw after him being taken for granted for a long time).

I think we’ll beat France by a good 20-30 points

Agree if we could have put a full strength side out we would have been pretty competitive. For me we have too many players the wrong side of 30 and there is an element of Wane going with people he has worked with previously. Not sure McIlorum Hill Cooper going to be able to live with the athleticism and fitness of the NRL forwards. And we know what happens when mad Micky gets frustrated!

| Welsby looking good at FB along with Young on the RW.
Watkins, Williams and Ackers showing up well against an average Fiji side.
28-0 at half time.

Should have been on tv, it’s reflective of the issues with promotion of the game.

Totally agree.
Rubbish by the RFL.
Final friendly in the run up to a home world cup.
What an opportunity for some PR for the competition.
Should have been on C4.
Really poor.

| Was expecting better from Fiji, but I suppose adding in Korisau, Sivo and kikau will help them.

| Having watched the game against Fiji I would have Young and Watkins on the right with probably Bateman and Makinson on the left.
Williams and Sneyd did enough at HB and Batchelor at SR .
No place in the 17 for Tomkins but that won`t happen.

| So couple of days away from start of Rugby league world cup 2021 (2022)
Our players involved are
Oledzki ( England)
Bentley, Myler, Mcdonnell ( Ireland)
Sangare ( France)
Martin ( PNG)
Tetevano (Cook Islands)
Rumoured signings.
Macdonald (PNG)
Luis Roberts ( Wales)
Gotta keep our eyes on them.
Looking forward to seeing all our boys rep their respective countries and also see some other superstars of the NRL. I'm hoping England can bring it home but those Oceania teams look really strong but gonna back the country all the way.

Yeah good sales figures. The tournament needs England to do reasonably well.

Shaun Wane names England squad for RLWC tournament opener
England head coach Shaun Wane has named his 19-strong squad for Saturday’s Rugby League World Cup tournament opener against Samoa at St James’s Park, Newcastle (kick off 2.30pm).
Skipper Sam Tomkins will enjoy his first taste of Rugby League World Cup action since the semi-final defeat by New Zealand at Wembley Stadium in 2013. The Catalans Dragons full back is one of five players with at least 20 England test caps to their name, alongside Tom Burgess (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Chris Hill (Huddersfield Giants), Kallum Watkins (Salford Red Devils) and Elliott Whitehead (Canberra Raiders).
Burgess and Whitehead are among a six-strong NRL contingent which also includes Herbie Farnworth (Brisbane Broncos), Victor Radley (Sydney Roosters), Luke Thompson (Canterbury Bulldogs) and Dom Young (Newcastle Knights).
