| 100% agree lot’s of Aussies, Kiwis etc have played for Leeds/Rhinos over the years and it’s a matter of personal choice and how old you are and how good your memory is. I saw in my option the best fullback ever to play for Leeds Ken Thornett and probably the best fullback to play for the Rhinos Brent Webb then what about ET and there plenty of other great players so to say Kylie was the best was just the best in one person’s opinion.

| Tony Currie along with Brad Godden are my benchmarks for left centre at Leeds. Obviously Mr Senior was pretty handy to.

All opinions though.'"
Correct it is opinions , in my opinion Buderus was an absolute star for us !

Yeah and in most peoples opinions he was. I genuinely never saw it in him at all. He was a great player one of the best 9s of all time and a super bloke but i can never remember him been that great for us.
What was his best game for us?

To me Buderus wasn't the most exciting to watch, but he was technically perfect in every aspect of the game. Particularly his tackling and passing techniques. His passes from DH always got the first receiver moving forward to run onto the ball. I think that took a bit for players to get used to, as so many received the ball as a flat pass.
As with many imports, his first year was slow (and injury hit), but after that he was immense!

Absolutely agree with the above his distribution from dummy half was as good as I have seen and it took a period of time for our forwards to adjust. He didn't do the flashy stuff but was a real leader and in the modern era only behind Cameron Smith in terms of career achievement

Spot on.
He was faultless in what he did - passing, tackling, organising, reading of the game.
Not big, not fast, but used his physical attributes to the absolute maximum effect.
I remember having seen him play for Australia a few times and when we signed him I was a bit underwhelmed, but after a few games I realised how wrong I was.
He was pure class - my favourite import ever.
We just didn’t have him long enough!

| I got my wife a NSW Jersey with his name on it. She was most confused to open it again months later as a Christmas present, but I knew the Payroll women at the Rhinos and she got Buderus to sign it for her.

| Buderus was a fantastic player.
We really were blessed throughout the Golden Generation era with a mix of once in a generation home grown talent and some very classy signings during that time we signed
Buderus
Lauititi
Peacock
Webb
Kylie
Ellis

| Totally agree re Buderus. Technically brilliant in all aspects. What would Gale and Lui give to get that kind of ball from acting half? If I remember rightly he gave two absolutely world class performances in the 2011 challenge cup and play off semis. On a similar note I also really admired Merrin, who despite being stuck with in of the worst teams in memory, performed with quiet excellence just about every week. Put Merrin in any team from 2004 to 2015 and he would have knocked it out of the park.

Yep, that’s the formula.
Homegrown talent - Kev, Rob, Mags, JJB, Hall, Ablett
+
Top quality imports - Webb, Buderus, Ali, Kylie, Delaney
+
Astute British signings - Peacock, Ellis, Senior
=
Success!

| Ignoring what happened in the end with him, I thought Segeyaro was a different class during his short time with us. And honourable mention to Paul Aiton, another 9 I rated highly.
