| Ran harder second half and it picked up from there.
Good spirit to edge a win.

| The mental focus of the team just seems to be so erratic, could do with some work in that area.

The first half was dreadful.'" perversely with the great players we played poorly in a lot of 2011 and 2012 games when expected to win and were only really entertaining in 2015 when cuthbo and hardaker peaked ....it's not the best squad in the worst of times improving on last 2 years

I dont think we’ve coped particularly well after lockdown, with the new training regime or with the new rules, it’s the same for all clubs though, but we have managed to win more than we have lost since the return, the team spirit is definitely there we are just struggling with any kind of consistency

| Much better second half. Strangely played out like the other game a few weeks back. Still desperately need to sort out what the plan is ball in hand.

| Mikolaj was outstanding again i thought, kid is really coming on now. Donaldson excellent. Newman strong.
Cant knock the teams effort and commitment most weeks in my opinion to be fair but direction and consistency at times leaves a lot to be desired. Our last tackle play options are dreadful.
Good win though. Sounds like the team had some disruption to deal with and had a poor first half but found a way to win which is a positive sign. As someone said previously we wouldnt have won a game like that in previous years.
Things to work on but team has spirit.

| Quote: Jack Burton "Is stealing the ball in the act of scoring no longer a penalty try?'"
No. Was changed a few years ago as players have to wrap onto the ball to stop the attacker grounding it. Its now a penalty but not a penalty try.
If anything the one in the 1st half where Dwyer went feet first and knocked the ball out of the Shudders attacker was more a penalty try than the Newman one.

Couldn’t agree more. Some people are so obsessed about results. Then if we win it was great. Can’t see the woods for the trees.
That match, that performance was dire. So too was the opposition, as most of the teams are. How anyone can call any point outstanding, must have some serious low levels. That said, we had massive disruption, and we came through it, and that deserves credit.
Oledzki clearly our best player by miles for last couple of games. Thought Dwyer stood out but was still bang average, but much better than his competition at the club. Hooker is a very weak position for us, and worse than any club other than Wakefield. Other than Oledzki front row poor, but did miss Prior. Back row a team of willing workers, but plodders. Lui is so poor, how the club and anyone can think we are better going with that than seeing what McLelland can offer on an extended run, I don’t know.
We are where we are because of how poor other sides are. Without a Wigan collapse now, and new format, top four will be beyond us, but with the poop below us not going to be a disaster. Not sure we will learn anything though as a result.

Cracking game and we got the win. Work to do yes, but we were no where near as bad first half as some people making out. Turned it around second half.'"
Agars interview describes the first half as being 'very very ordinary' polite speak for awful.

That second half in tough conditions was far from dire.

Agar gave a complicated explanation when talking to the press.Something to do with managing our inter changes.Still a bit early for me not sure I understood it.Think he felt we needed more mobile forwards.

| Basically I think Agar was saying that if he had out Ava back on he would have had to take him off again after 20 minutes so it would be a ‘waste’ of a sub if the pack that was on could cope, it makes sense but on the flip side that’s not a good look for Ava who is clearly struggling with fitness. I think we might see Holroyd over taking him this season.

| The kits played havoc with my colour blindness, dark red and dark blue are the Two main colours I can’t distinguish, we could have at least played in blue shorts

Ava clearly not at the level of fitness required (certainly for the new rules) but I thought he looked noticeably better against salford.
