| I think the major difference between the 2 sides was the kicking game. There's was pretty good, ours was terrible. I can't remember us putting one good kick in. If we'd just matched their kicking game I think we'd have won that game as I think our offloads would have taken their toll.
I think we were a tad unlucky with a couple of calls early on from Bentham and with the Bowen try.
I also think we need more spark in the backrow. Unfortunately Delaney and Ablett look too slow to me.
We were making good ground around the ruck with Aiton doing some good stuff there but our halves didn't take advantage of that and then get the ball out to the centres.
I think Handley has been a bit harshly criticised by some. He's not the first that McIlorum has forced a knock on from. The Burgess try wasn't entirely his fault as he had 2 men to mark. He could've passed to Burrow after his break but it's incredibly difficult to pull off a pass that quickly when you don't know where he is. If he'd put a not 100% perfect pass in at that speed the likelihood is the ball is knocked on and he's being blamed for not taking the tackle.
He did cockup on his other break when he bizarrely kicked.
For me a lack of direction and the kicking game were the main reasons for our loss. Along with some excellent Wigan defence.

| Handley is an easy scapegoat but to blame him for today would be unfair. Other more senior players need to have a long look at their contributions. As has been said our kicking game was dire and their forwards dominated. Handley is a young kid covering injury, this was a massive game for him and he had a pretty tough time of it, including some poor decision making. But I think he has real promise and I hope today didn't knock his confidence too much.

I thought the forward battle was quite even, but the kicking games on the back of the sets was terrible, partly this was down to Wigan's excellent kick pressure but also the choice and direction of the kicks were poor, at the other side, the Wigan halves could have played in their slippers.
This isn't a new problem though, it's been a problem for a few seasons.

You might be right. If so he was off for such a short time that I missed it.

| Do you think Peacock is retiring because he is tired of getting knocked all over at the Magic Weekend by McIllorum?

| Quote: Gotcha "Exactly. We are a poorly coached team. Those tactics are clearly from the coach not the players. And why we are continuing to try and get used to without Sinfield I don't know. It is clearly an instruction for him not to take the last plays, big mistake. No short kicks.
And why the hell do we persist with that wasted substitution of Butrow. He offers nothing anymore, absolutely nothing. We are just wasting a player.
Wigan for me were not any good, we had plenty of opportunities, and failed with them.
Hardaker wax by an absolute mile easily our best player, and only one who played with any will to win. Watkins was appalling for me, and whilst I accept Handley looked poor I don't think his centre partner helped at all. He needs a kick up the backside, to start playing with some determination with his skill.'"
Unreal - what did Sinfield do with his last kick options? It wasn't as if he didn't have a few. Also what did he actually contribute ball in hand?
He is there to general the side - you cannot have it both ways - he contributed a fat load of nothing tonight,
Agree about Burrow and also about Hardaker - Wigan were much better than you have given them credit for. We never looked like scoring in the 2nd half - from 12-4 they scored 19 unanswered points if they were no good what were we - Sinfield lead?

On another, totally unrelated note, when's Briscoe back?
Leeds have played 3 of the likely top 8 in recent weeks - they have lost to two and got a draw against the other - you still think your £50 is safe?
Leeds were well beat - accept it and start saving

| Dropped 9 points in the league and 7 of them came with Bentham as ref, he really gives us nothing.

Are you seriously suggesting Bentham was the sole reason for Leeds getting beat tonight - honestly?

Pretty sure I did accept it. No knee jerking here.
Leeds have played everyone in the league and beaten all, bar one team. We also blew away a top four contender in the CC.
This is pretty much the safest bet i've ever placed.

| We were poor, anyone on here suggesting that Wigan were good, needs to watch the game again, they didn't do anything special, just the nitty gritty, if wigan really turned up we'd have been on the wrong end of a real beating

| Poor youg Handley had a nightmare.....but questions must be asked soon of his centre partner. I can't remember the last pass he gave him.
Hardaker was immense; hope his injury is not too serious. Apart from maybe Aiton he was the only to come away from the game with any credit. Sinfield was as bad this game as he was good against Huddersfield. I still say he is best out of dummy half these days. Young George Williams showed him up today; that lad has a brilliant future.
Why does McDermott insist on flogging his favourite forwards? Cuthbertson is the latest to suffer his puzzling persisitence in keeping on knackered forwards when fresh legs are called for to give some respite.

Keep believing - faith is a great thing especially when the reality in front of you doesn't support your confidence. In the last 5 games how many points have Leeds dropped?

| All the talk about Hardaker's one on one defence - he never even got close to Burgess for his try and Williams should have never scored from 40 metres out.

| We were dire, absolutely terrible, zak was only one that looked like he wanted to play. Don't know what we were thinking on last tackle plays. Briscoe needs to get back then we're back at full strength, Handly looks tired and I can't blame him, can't fault him for what he's done, but he cannot have expected to be playing this many games this season. I wouldn't mind, but it's frustrating when we lose to a team that weren't in all honesty that great, wigan just did the nitty gritty better than we did
