I'm of the opinion that GH's utilisation of his moral compass with regard to the employee list at the club has very much taken a back seat in recent times.
I guess the time of need has arrived and the club can no longer afford to be quite so choosy.

Barrie was 22 when he joined Leeds. He had plenty of growing up to do off the field, but he was at the right age to do it. In terms of risk/reward you also had the chance of 10 years of service if he sorted himself out.
Hock could be too old and too far gone to grow up, and on the outside chance he does the rewards are minimal.

Probably, but it's a risk worth taking IMO.

I said it was a risk, not a certain failure.
It's a gamble with a potentially big pay out. It also has a fairly high probability (if we're Bayesian about it) of being a disaster.
It seems to be an internet rumour anyway. Which gives it a similarly high probability of being a load of old bobbins.

| The fun on these boards if we sign Hock would be worth it regardless. He's clearly a bit of a loon, but he can be what no other Leeds forward is - genuinely damaging with the ball.

| Quote: Wigg'n "To be honest, although I feel for Hohaia and hope he has no injuries, the saying "if you play with fire, you're going to get burnt" springs to mind. As a half-back, you can't expect no retaliation when you go and chase a prop and forearm him in the face (even if he shoved you first). He probably would've been out of the game without the second horrible punch - point being a lot of people have said the first one was 'fair'.
And fully agree with the final statement.'"
Wigan have built their abrasive style on overreaction to limited provocation. It's kept them on the front foot I many games this season. Karma is a b***h.

| Lenegan & Wane both have to support Flower, he was only carrying out Wane's instructions as highlighted in the recent programme shown on Sky where he instructed his players to knock out the opposition.

| Charged with Grade "F" offence, minimum 8 matches I believe.
Not sure if EGP applies nor what the effect of that could be,

Flower doesn't have EGP available.
Hohaia - who has been charged with Grade B striking with the forearm - does have EGP if he wants to use it.
Interestingly, the Grade F guidelines also include the option of a time-based suspension. That would prevent Wales's European Championship campaign or the WCC game counting against his ban, by imposing a set number of weeks/months.

| Hohaia will presumably argue that he's already missed one game through being KO'd in the 2nd minute?
With EGP would that mean he's served his ban?

| I'd be disappointed if the RFL took what happened to him in the aftermath into account.
He went after Flower with a forearm to the head after some provocation. It's only the fact he couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding that prevented him from doing some damage of his own.
If he uses the EGP, give him two games so he serves one.

| In a normal match with that forearm to the face, and subsequent first punch from Flower. You would have seen no charges after the game, and a sin bin for Flower in the match it's self.
The punch after is the issue, and should have been the only issue that the RFL dealt with, and should have been handled outside the normal guidelines, as the offence is not something we have seen before.

| No need to take it outside the usual guidelines.
By grading it at Grade F, the RFL have given themselves carte blanche to impose whatever suspension they think fit.
Anyone remember what John Dalgreen got for kicking a grounded player in the head back in the 80s? Was the Danny Williams king hit one in the NRL 14 games?
