| I bought a huge stollen cake at the German market last year, imagine my surprise when I got it home to find that none of the family like stollen cake, imagine how disappointed I was at their news and the fact that I had to eat all of it myself.
Then they reminded me that the same thing had happened the year before too, silly me, fancy forgetting that no-one else likes the stuff in our house, I mean, you'd only buy a small piece if you knew that wouldn't you ?

The current leader is White Chocolate & Baileys.
There's some mince pies in the oven too, and apparently she's made the mincemeat from scratch too!'"
White chocolate and baileys cheesecake, where do you live, heaven ?

Now that does sound like a decent cheesecake.
The best I've eaten came from a shop Marie Callenders in LA - its a chain - but they were great; could feed a family of 12 ( 4 if yanks) or one McF.

The thing is, she's been making single size portions to see which works best, but now it's drawing nearer and we have a shortlist she's onto full size cheesecakes to get the proportions and presentation right, and we can't take it round on Christmas Day with a slice or two missing. That would be just rude. So I think we'll use this one as a full size tester to be sure.

It doesn't sound too promising all of a sudden?
Up until this announcement all the noises from HQ were very positive that the game would go ahead and now out of the blue a pitch inspection at a ridiculous time and talk about how they have only just got some gas to work the hot blowers.
If its off I hope they can rearrange for Monday with a similar time kick off which as its a bank holiday surely means they'll get a much bigger crowd than Wed at 7-30pm which has previously been banded about on here.

That press release was online from the start of the week in a different bulletin, they were appealing for gas suppliers to step forward as bottled gas was in short supply - you wouldn't want to be thawing the pitch out before the weekend anyway.
I can't believe that no-one thought that there wouldn't be a pitch inspection at some point between now and Sunday or that there won't be one on Sunday morning as well.

My mother used to make her own mince pies too, the crust (yes they had a crust) had the consistency of wet MDF and there was always a rim around the lid of burnt mincemeat that was completely inedible. Most of her mince pies ended up on the front lawn where starlings would gather and wait for a run of several rainy days to soften the pastry after which they devour them and be unable to take off until digested three or four days later.
She also did mince tarts which were the same but with icing on top instead of a lid which just lulled you into a false sense of security - the icing was straight forward enough to navigate but the mincemeat beneath had its own micro-climate and would retain heat for days, it was like licking molten lava out of a wet MDF mould.
I won't even start on the xmas day she served the turkey still raw, the timer on the new oven confused her.

| I hope the game doesn't go on if it means that the pitch will be ruined for the first few weeks of the season as happened last year.
