Better than last years?
At it's peak there was 13 inches of laying snow on our front garden.

| Oh and why are people insistant on blocking roundabouts? Surley the thrill of being an extra 10feet nearer their destination isn't that big? Took me 20mins to get through Weetwood Roundabout this morning!

Totally agree with that! How much satisfaction could you possibly get by being a car length closer?? It's the same with the people who get annoyed when you leave a bit of space between yourself and the car in front. I often wonder if they're secretly getting a rush by playing a game of "Ice Brake Roulette".
It doesn't seem much worse than yesterday but it took me 40 minutes of queuing to get the 3 miles to work this morning.

| What annoys me is that most people either take no notice of the conditions & drive in their usual ty way, or they drive at a ridiculously slow speed, and brake unpredictably.
I try to drive at a reasonable speed, avoid the brake & keep as big a stopping distance as possible

Agreed!!
The problem is... when do you ever get taught how to do that?? There's certainly no reference to it in the test (or wasn't when I passed).
If you learnt and passed during the summer, or a winter that didn't see snow, then you can almost forgive people for not knowing what to do. It comes with experience and common sense, the problem is common sense isn't that common and I'm not being patronising but I think a lot of people genuinely need to be taught how to drive in snow.

Agree there needs to be something in the test. There was when I did my advanced driving you get to go on the skid pans and become a child again. However some of the driving I today witnessed was very poor and just common sense

| I was learning during some snowy weeks so I got some pretty valuable knowledge. Although a lot of it is common sense. The setting off in 2nd/avoiding reving the balls out of it in 1st seems to be the one that 50% of women don't know about.

Totally agree!! But if nobody ever tells them, it's not really their fault for not knowing it. The government should run public information adds like the good old days!
As a slight deviation... I have an automatic now and it's the first winter I've had it. Fantastic car 99% of the time but I'm finding it slightly annoying not having the control over the gears in these conditions.
