He dropped him for the rest of the series though icon_wink.gif

and the next time we played Australia we scored less and conceded more.
The game Mcguire played against Aus we lost 16-26. we lost the final 46-16

So maybe McGuire wasn't the problem after all eh?

We were in the second game though, because we were'nt 26-0 down at half time due to a plethora of missed tackles and errors.

At least in the final they hammered a side where we'd lost a player to injury and scored a few through kicks rather than just walking through us.

Funny idea of "scoring less" you have too icon_wink.gif

danny mcguires been the most creative england/gb player in the past 5 years.

When he plays, most of our tries revolve around him.

Contrary to popular belief england aren't crap because of danny mcguire.

We just never control enough field position due to the forwards and the kicking game.

All of that was mcguire fault.

If mcguire had never played for gb/england we'd have won a series by now.

I daresay mcguire is the reason we haven't yet found a cure for cancer.

Funny idea of "scoring less" you have too Nice slant. Not nice enough to alter the fact that McGuire in England team = 10 point defeat to Aus. McGuire not in England team = 30 point defeat to Aus.

In reality, and it pains me to say this, McGuire is the next Long, an English half back in an era when we can't touch Australia. Everyone has a semi about Eastmond/Tomkins/Myler because they have only the one failure (last year) at international level so optimism remiains. Sadly they will share exactly the same fate as McGuire and Long eventually. Therefore, in my eyes, how they go for England or GB isn't the best barometer to Judge English player's abilities.

And the previous time we played Australia we scored NIL and conceded even more. Enter the gyrating turnstile McGuire at 16-4 whose only notable effort at actually completing a tackle was an attempt to spear tackle Inglis, leading to a penalty and a try conceded immediately after.

36-0 to Australia whilst McGuire was on the pitch.

We lost 52-4.

Anyone who has just watched today's play off games from the NRL can see why England have little prospect of beating Australia - Tomkins/Eastmond half back combination would get hammered as would a McGuire/Eastmond pair or a McGuire/Tomkins pair - the standard of the game in the NRL is light years ahead of ours.

To say we were in the final is the same as saying we conceded less points in the second half of the first game - is simply rubbish, we played as well as the Aussies let us play the last 20 minutes in the final and the first 20 minutes in the JJB game were replicas of each other i.e. the Aussies upped the ante and we fell apart - differing personnel same result

Give the Man of Steel award to the guy that is absolutely ripping it up this year. Look at his contribution in that 1st half - Amazing right? Well he has been doing that all year for us.

Yes, that's why it should be out of Richards, O'Loughlin and Roby.
