Quote: HyperbolicRhino "They're really doing the whole T20 thing to death at the moment - playing way too many games of what is, in effect, glorified village cricket - bit too "6 or out" esque for my liking. It's been good to follow Yorkshire in a "proper" cricket match again! What was your gut feeling as the day went on? When Clarke and Tahir were knocking it about a bit, I was starting to think our chance had gone, then the last couple of wickets gave us a foot in the door.... had no idea if they were going to pull it off though as I wasn't sure how many overs were available. Once we got going, was there ever any doubt or was it nip and tuck all the way?'"
The result was in doubt until we (Bairstow) got 13 off Maddy, that knocked the stuffing out of them.
I was very critical at the game of Rudolph not bowling Patterson sooner, as soon as he came on he finished off the tail.
To be fair I think that T20 has been beneficial because sides are no longer intimidated at the prospect of getting 10+ runs an over provided that there are wickets in hand. But we never let the rate required get much over 8 an over at any time plus we were playng proper shots not slogging.
Rashid's running between the wickets really geed up Bairstow & in the end it became easy
