Quote: Lawrie L "indeed, each game will bring more corporate events before the game and plus added fans will help boost local economy'"

Thanks. Can you be more specific though?

Are these random thoughts off the top of your head or do you have any quality information about the Tykes income Streams, profitability and cash benefits to the Leeds CF&A Ltd.

I'm not that interested in the "local economy" but if you can quantify that that then fair do's.

I think it's great news that Leeds Carnegie won today.
The coaching team of Andy Key & Neil Back are to be congratulated for turning the team round over the course of this season.
I think London Irish (today's beaten opponents) beat them by about 40 or even 50 points at Headingley when they met earlier this season.
I don't want to watch them but I think anything that brings premier level sport to the city is to be encouraged.
Pity the football mob let us down yesterday.

If Leeds successfully stay in the GP they will receive an extra £1million pounds per year in central funding.

In my defence I didnt say a figure of what the club brings (maybe I should have found that out, my bad) however I have seen from a family member who works in the insurance industry and he a few years ago he found it much easier to woo people from down south to Union games for coroporate doos then to League games

Rah Rah Rugby bores the tits off me, I’ve tried watching it on numerous occasions with the thought of “well thousands of folk watch this game so there must be something in it”. But I’ve I just can’t see its attraction.

Saying this it generates income for Leeds Rugby so as long as it is a profitable venture and isn’t a drain on the income generated by the Rhinos then I fine with the shared arrangement.

Quote: Tyke's/Rhinos No. 1 Fan "very basically, a win next week will see Tykes stay up. And if Sale do anything other than lose badly, it will send Worcester down. Even if sale do lose badly, Worcester need to win, score 4 tries and make up 40 points points difference on Sale.'"

If teams are level at any stage, they are ranked by
2. difference between points for and against
3. most tries scored
4. most points scored
5. difference between tries for and against

Not that I care but as Leeds and Sale have already won 6 and Worcester have only won 3 with 2 games to go relative points difference won't come into it.

Would like them to stay up, its a good financial bonus for the city.

Who owns them now? Did Carnegie sell them back to Caddick?

Am I right in thinking that the last set of accounts showed that the corporate side of Headingley only just broke even? Also as narrow minded as this will sound, boosting the local economy and bringing trade to the pubs, shops etc means bugger all to the Rhinos as we dont make a single penny out of it

Surely anything that raises the profile of the city nationally & internationally is to be encouraged.
Whether we like it or not & whether we agree with it or not in the absence of a premiership soccer club RU gets greater exposure than RL thereby helping to put the city on the map.
That has to be a benefit for everyone & before you ask G1, no I can't quantify that statement in purely financial terms.

Your not as complimentary towards Leeds Utd and the money they bring to the city of Leeds.

Well done, I hope they stay up every year, Sky TV revenue will be more for GP clubs than super league and like someone already said there is central funding, if they can attract a few more to watch they should be in a nice posistion to contribute a few more quid to the new southstand.

Massive increase in central funding if Leeds stay up, if they do not spend it all on players then it cant be a bad thing for us

Quote: "
Leeds only received 60% of the money this year that the other clubs received from organisers of the Premiership.

If they stay up this season, they will receive the full whack next time round, and Back says that would mean an additional £1.4m to help them target a top-six place next year. '"

Some of the pitches I've played on make it obvious that removing dog "exhaust" is not a requirement in the RFU handbook.
