| I suspect if they go down they might be playing elsewhere.

The article cites a report that stated that the turf was incapable of sustaining year round rugby. I'd say the report author(s) got that bit pretty much spot on.

My bet is that they'll end up at Bramhope.

I've re-quoted you leaving only the bit that is relevant.

"Fourteen years later, we've only had two games called off, so I don't think we've done bad." is how Mr Booth followed up his statement, and again, he is correct.
If someone played rugby on my back garden every week for fourteen years it would look much worse than the Headingley pitch does right now

If Booth is stating it isn't all down to the rugby union I wonder what percentage he puts down to them, 80%?

| So the pitch is a mess, not because of Union, no, no, it's because it gets played on all year.
Remind me, what gets played on it in the non-growing season?

Mostly Union but not exclusively Union as there are/were League games played December, January, February onwards as well.
I still remember a Booth comment that he had to cut the grass twice in December before the Union side played the Harlequins. I wonder if he still thinks that was an altogether wise thing to do?

There's' only one inescapable conclusion.
They've served their purpose. Thanks very much boys but ta ta and stop spoiling the pitch,

| As daft as it sounds, a larger percentage of the issue is attributed to the union side of the club. its not a union bashing statement from me though, its purely the fact that they are playing on it at a time of year when its a slower (if at all) period of regeneration in the pitch down to the time of year. We could blame ourselves also for playing on it now when its in such a state.
