Solicitors/Barristers... Pfft!
I whole heartedly agree about the Scottish lass.

I went there once back in '73 to see the FA Cup Final edition of It's A Knockout, Leeds vs Sunderland.... I think we lost that as well!!!

Just the once in my case too, took so long to exit from there that I never bothered again.
Not everywhere had five-star petrol.
Ah ... the Morris Marina TC saloon that I had back then, in Black Tulip with red seats.
Fond memories.

Didn't Hunslet play there for a while?
Or is my memory playing tricks?

Yes they did, so no it's not.
They had "tuning fork" NFL-style goals and you could watch the game from behind glass while eating sausage and chips.
New Hunslet's largest single expense was the amount of strapping needed to prepare Geoff Crewdson to play.

Wooed Mrs Flipper at Hoagy's just of that lovely round about, offered to buy her a drink, she had no cash, not taking no for an answer I said I'd pay, she then proceeded to demolish 11 pints of cider, I was impressed.

| I think its previous incarnation was the Tam o'Shanter which was our boozer of choice after college on a Monday evening, it was awful, cheap furnishings and lino floors, I can't think why we ever used to go in there apart from the fact that it was easy to run for your bus in the Central Bus Station because you could see it on its stand and if it started to move you had about 30 seconds to down your pint and run for the bus stop outside Kennedy's record shop 100 yards away up Eastgate.
"Catering" in pubs in those days meant a pie of some description underneath a plastic dome on top of the bar and I curse every last cornish pasty I had in the Tam o'Shanter, I don't think any of them were younger than me.

Sorry to be pedantic but in the 70’s it was the 93 to Cookridge and 96 to Tinshill – I remember if you missed the 93 you’d have to catch the 96 get off at Tinshill Top and walk down the hill.
