| Saints were after James Tamou - but he's probably a backup plan for Graham the Big Baby to replace Thompson.
Id sign Tamou for a couple of years..

| I've never really rated Tamou he would be last resort signing for me always remember him getting decked by Garbutt in 2016 WCC, We do need another prop in the middle though and especially if Cuthbertson retires at end of this season but I think we're still short a middle even with our current squad.

| Quote christopher="christopher"And if I'm honest, I'm OK with that, even if we went with what we've got for the 2021 season (maybe bar Cuthbertson who may retire)
Id be looking at rewarding maybe Myler and Dwyer with 1 year contracts for next year, this season is basically a write off even if we get back to some sort of normality near the end of the year.'" I hope we don't lose Holroyd and offer Cuthberston an extension that for mine would be madness.

I really can't see that happening with Agar and Sinfield seem to be basing our future on our current crop of youngsters.

| On the Warrington Inglis signing, I think it's great for the competition however, Warrington seem to be of the mindset that just splashing cash and filling their team with 'names' is going to finally get them success, look at the successful teams Leeds, Wigan, Saints - the success is largely built around the youth setup and building team spirit not just big name signings.

Can't see how this will boost the comp. Inglis was finished 3 years ago. One of the all time greats, but I would not have been pleased had we announced this.....

He’s still good enough to destroy most teams in SL

Even off form he will be better than most, add in the commercial benefits of his name and I can definitely see the appeal.
That said, no one man makes a team and the previous comment about a team of names is spot on. Inglis is on a one year deal so will offer little in the longer term. Reminds me of our teams under Laughton that were fantastic on paper but struggled to actually turn that into trophies. Warrington are the same.

The problem for Warrington is that they are not v even fantastic on paper. Yes they have a couple of works class players, (Hill, Clark, Widdop) but the quality around them just isn't there. The 2011 squad is way better than their current squad. Seems like they put all their eggs in a couple of baskets....

Tbh I think widdop is pap, hill is getting over the hill (couldn't resist) but that's kind of my point. They are a team full of names (ratchford, burrell, Austin, widdop, hill, Clarke, etc..) but they don't have that in it together spirit when they really need it. It's so hard to get that when the team is bought and not developed together.
Inglis will bring a lot of things to the team but for only a year that impact will be lost again so quickly.

| Warrington are a charity shop version of the mid 90s Leeds team.
