| Quote: Charlie Sheen "If Golding goes, I'd definitely keep Sutcliffe, we need cover at full back.'"
IMO neither Golding or Sutty will be first choice starting 17 next season barring any injuries.
Perhaps that will be a deciding factor for these players should another club take a fancy to their services for 2019 and beyond
IMO the club would gladly sacrifice any of Golding,Sutty,Mullally,Walters,Ormandroyd or Handley in order to bring a top class replacement in that would be a starting 17 each week like Ikahihfo for example

Maybe, but Sutcliffe certainly shouldn’t be it.

| I guess the chap from rugby union, McLelland, can also cover fullback as can Lolohea - you just cannot carry 'old' reserve players with a salary cap and no reserve team anymore - promising juniors have 2 or 3 years to get a starting place and then need to move on and let the next batch of youngsters have a go - for me any of the people on Biffs Back list can go if we do not see them having a starting spot

I actually liked him at hooker last year. With some preseason training in the position he'd be good on the bench. Could cover 9 and across the backs

| I have nothing against Golding but if he covers hooking role next season when we have young Corey Johnson there I will go mental. Like seriously mental.

Agree.
Sutty has had his chance(s) for me.

I disagree, theres a good player in there IMO, Sutcliffe was arguably also respondible for us winning 2 very important games atvthe back end of last season - Widnes away and Salford at home, as I say I think theres a decent player in there lets see what the new coach can do with him

Agreed, dont want to see Goulding anywhere near the hooking role. Parcell, Dwyer and Johnson should be our hooker options.

That's my feeling too. I'm willing to wait and see what he's like in a team with some structure.

| Am convinced that Sutcliffe has the potential to be a huge success. Long term i would see him best utilised in the second row. He has the size and frame and has good hands and decent pace (for a forward). We need to persevere with him and back him and am convinced he will come good for us.

I'm not convinced as he hasn't shown me enough to suggest he can lock down a second row spot (although not sure where else I would play him either) and he is unlikely to get a game there next year. However, if this is an option I would try and convince Toronto to take him on loan for a season under the agreement that they play him at second row only - if he succeeds, there should be a few vacancies in the second row the season after next when JJB retires, and 2 or 3 of the others have uncertain futures

| Sutty is ok across a number of positions. He did ok at fb but walker is better, he did ok at centre but then couldn't oust Handley and won't get a game there now. He is a good awful stand off. Would he be better at 2nd row? I think he could go ok there.
But if it was between keeping him or Golding which was the original post then I'm afraid I'd prefer Golding who has done nothing wrong other than be at the club at the same time as walker who has all the makings of a top top player.
